Just a thought - I'm at work so can't test....
In my JSF, a ctss4 fills my shield and empties my capacitor, as expected. Given that my shields are fairly low cap (1800 I believe), and I usually use it when only half of a shield is gone, is this a waste? Should I use ctss2 or 3 instead, which (I'm guessing) may fill my shield with less cap usage?

What is your capacitor energy? What cap overload program do you run?
For example, if you have a 1000 energy cap and run CO4, you have 2000 cap energy. When you're at 900/1800 and CTSS4 with a full cap, 1000 energy goes to front and 1000 to back. So you do waste 200. CTSS3 would shunt 750 to front and back, leaving you with 1650/1800 shields and 500 cap energy.
