Thread: y-8 solo?
Go with a Type V engine experimented for maneuverability and run your overloads, and its managable. You even get used to the offset gun after a while.
Like anything, it just takes practice.

I will time it once ive had a little practise i had a theory that it might be possible to "park" the y-8 and use the turret to blast with as the turret gives a 360 degree radius it might be possible to blast the asteroids before they got too far out
I will also try useing the pilots gun thanks for that tip
I am running just the speed engine from my heavy x in it as i dont want to buy many more parts till 24 comes out but shield is topnotch and im running 2 class 3 mining lasers and a tractor beam of course the tractor beam is useless without a crew so one turret is tractor beam the other is class 3 then my pilots gun is class three as well
Ill check into this best i can and report back my findings

You can use it to mine?!! And here I've got mine set up as a battle ship/command center/ party barge

yeh i been useing my grievous or heavy x to mine but recently aquired a cargo hold for my y-8
im pretty impressed with the capacity so i wanna try it out

For those who were wondering, Mulityperson apparently menas more then one person. And here I thought Multiperson meant more than one person.

Sorry the reply took so long, 1% is about 340 units of resources, and with each little chunk taken in only worth 20 units (tractor beam, else 10 units if blasted with a laser), it takes 17 little chunks to make that 1%. But I can make that in a couple minutes, and my best rate so far has been around 11k/hour. My average is around 10k an hour, depending on which system I am in and the bandits I have to deal with, and if I have to jump to several different systems to fill an order. One last thing, average price for the resources on Bria is around 100 CPU, I have a guy who buys bulk from me at 80CPU, otherwise I give it to my guild MSW or have my master artisan make up the vehicle restoration kits (have a schem for it, so all I have to do is drop a stack of petro and carb in the factory to make them).
Last bit of advice, every 3% is 1k of resources on a large hold with the 34,340 storage, so 5k is 15%, 10k is 30%.........
