After reading about this on multiple galaxy forums and experiencing it this morning, I am taking the initiative to bring this to full attention.
There is a current bug in space where if your ship gets disabled and you click eject, your ship has a high chance that it will explode multiple times. The game ejects your ship more timesthen usual and gets multiple decay hits on components. I exploded 15-20 times, and my ship is now almost ruined. When I landed, I had 1000 bf and 1200 wounds, and multiple damaged components on my ship.
I have read about others with the same problem on the forums here and have met others in-game who've experienced this. This must be fixed.
I had just bought the ship and outfitted it with components too, and I don't want to have to buy a new ship everytime I go into space.

Yeah, I've heard this mentioned. I agree, it needs to be fixed. So far I've only blown up once since the changes went in, and I wasn't quick enough to hit the eject button... I should probably be thankful for that now.

I NEVER use the EJECT!
You get less "damage and decay" that way... I cannot tell exactly how much, but search the forum, there are many threads on this already.

you should never eject anyway unless you are disabled, no longer under attack, unable to vrepair yourself, and dont have any freiends that came come do an other-ship vrep. its always better to let them blow you away than to to eject, since that totaly destroys all components.
decay happens when you repair your ship, not when it takes damage. if all your parts are allready at 0 (because you ejected) then ejecting agian before repairsdoes nothing but give you more wounds and BF. hardly gamebreaking, but stilla pain in the rear since you have to go watch someone dance for 30min.
the only time i could really see this being an issue is if you eject in deep space, get the full repairs on exit, and then end up ejecting agian unwillingly in normal space

I was under the impression that ejecting is a good thing (if you don't have a chance to otherwise survive or escape), in that components that haven't taken any damage yet won't have to be repaired, and thus no decay. Letting yourself get shot up puts them at risk of damage. Am I wrong?
