nerfing stats or ships is not the answer!!!!!!!! fixing the curent ships of jtl is. and remember all but a small hand full of ships are craftable.

So all the pre-existing ships should be brought up to par, using the new ships as a baseline? That would be correcting a mistake by making another.

How are the standard JtL ships broken? They've worked great for months since JtL came out, and provided a balance between PvE and PvP. PvE was still a challenge but not impossible (well, challenging until you've become really experienced) and PvP had no "best" ship, but a balance of tactics. If the old ships were fine, then the solution must lie in balancing the newer vessels with the existing system, not changing the existing system for the few new additions.

The problem is that that small handful of un-craftable ships are the very best ships in the game, hands down. The only craftable ship that I can think of (besides the heavy-mass novice craft that came with RotW) that is competitive against the new ships in PvP is the TIE Oppressor. In PvE, the only preexisting ship that is craftable that's still competitive is the Krayt.

The new (and few) ships ought to be brought dow into line with the older balanced ships. This is a perfectly reasonable expectation, and it can't be called a nurf since the beta test on these was so short as to be non existent, and the chance to do any sort of balance pass never came (correct me if I'm wrong, but the only balancing done was with mass, not performance).

They need to be brought in line with the old ships (which were more or less balanced vs eachother in terms of mass/hardpoints/ypr) one way or another. This means that either:
- Mass needs to be lowered to match the ships' YPR values
- Mass needs to be left alone while YPR is reduced to match the mass/hardpoints
- Both YPR and Mass need to be tweaked some to create balancedRotW ships with specific roles
