I was wondering if anyone had some advice on how to complete the Vortex Tier 2 Mission 3. Escorting the guy in the Yavin system. It's a never ending series of tie fighter waves. I'm doing it in a y-wing LP, nothing really special on it. 2 guns no missiles. Trying to save up RE stuff for an x-wing when i get up to the next level. Anyway, the closest i have come so far is like 6 or 8 waves and i finally lose track of fighters enough that they kill the guy i'm escorting. Is there a better way to do this? I was thinking of a faster ship since i know mine is not the most maneuverable but I can't afford the Heavy Z-95 right now. Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Hmm, I guess I would never have thought of that. I just want to make sure I'm understanding though. By disabling the ships, this stops the constant respawn of more waves of reinforcements? Or is there still a certain number of waves I need to deal with to complete the mission.
Appreciate the help though.

Disabling will slow down the rate of spawns. Waves are triggered when the "bunny" passes a certain point, if there are not already a certain number of foes out there. Disabling means the ships linger, blowing up eventually, but it lets you take them out of action more quickly, and gives you time to keep track of your bunny.
Must keep the bunny safe. *nod*

Yup. Disabling works a lot better, plus firing at each enemy ship at least once will make them go after you instead of the other ship, giving it a much better chance.
