Long time reader, first time poster. Just wondering if anyone here know how one can get the yt-2400 after ToOW comes out? will only shipwrights be able to make them orwill it be a quest like the y-8? And if anyone has a link for a good picture of the yt-2400 that would be great. And if there was a post about this earlier, my appologies, and ive must not have seen it.
Thanks in advance

I just got back in game after taking a year+ off. Been getting all my info athttp://www.atombender.de/swgwiki/index.php/Category:Starships
Been flying solo pretty much, and the tier 3 Rebel missions have been kicking my butt, but lastnight I had a breakthrough and finally learned a trick that let me take out a spawnand an ambushthat wound up totaling7tier 4's and a tier 5. Later one of my friends pointed out that I was using tier 2 weapons (I was misreading the effectiveness against shields and aromr as the damage, these were 630/860 ish in those reguards, but sucked on damage
)
Still much to learn I guess
Edit to make the clicky clickable...

There's a long series of difficult ground-based quests, which culminate in an encounter with a certain boss who will drop the deed when he's killed. I know I'm being vague here, but tough, I don't want to spoil it for anyone.
Kindarin's been putting together a guide for it, but I'm not sure when he's going to post it and whether he managed to complete it before ToOW beta closed down.

There's a good guide for the 2400 on the beta forums now, I think the OP is going to move it to the game guides forum when toow goes live, so look there next.
Two words, long and hard.

Just saw this post, sorry took so long to respond
I've been working on a very detailed guide on the series of quests (it's a pretty long series) that eventually leads you to the YT-2400. I did not get the opportunity to finish it in Beta (would have been nice had they told us, oh...more than six hours before shutting it down), but I have only 2 parts left to complete and then the guide will be done.
As soon as pre-orders get to play (October 25th), I'll have the guide posted up and by the time you get to where I left off I should have it complete.
BUT...to answer your question, here is a brief rundown:
1. Talk to NPC in Mining Facility, run three missions and one dungeon
2. Talk to new NPC, run one mission and four dungeons
3. Loot (yes...loot, not auto-reward) YT-2400 deed off of HK-47's dead & still smoking chassis
You can run the "mission" parts solo, but everything else will require a good group and I highly recommend a full group of 8 great players to avoid repeating things over and over.

It's a 100% drop, just like Grievious/Necrosis' ship is...and yes, one drop off of him like another other regular loot.
Make it easy, it's the exact same deal as Necrosis is for loot. HK-47 drops other items as well, but those will vary per battle.
Now, don't worry too much--you CAN do this part over and over all you wish just like Necrosis, and this guy gives a much tougher fight than Necrosis could even fathom. I really don't want to give much away on that--detailed steps are all I'm exposing--but I'll give ya a tidbit...
...think waves of nuclear energy lashing out at players.
And Halyn, I would be more than happy to take you up on that offer if you've got a full seven with ya. I don't think LA will have enough members with the expansion willing to hop straight in and grind through it.
If it is within your power in RS, could you get a group of those interested together and make sure they run everything off of the guide up to the Kubaza Beetle Caves? That way we can hop straight in there and get to work. If we could kick things off around 9pm CST, I'd bet we could finish the Caves, Old Research Facility, and Droid Factory if everyone has the guide printed out in front of them.

I am appalled that the quest to get the YT-2400 is a ground-based quest. What's the point of it? it's something to be used in space therefore it should be obtained in space. perhaps another method of obtaining the ship could be developed without having to be a cl80 jedi master to even be in a group that can do the mission. perhaps a firespray type of system. chassis components would be looted from certain tier 5 ships/gunboats and would be put together by a shipwright. the quest could remain for the ground-pounders but for those of us who are Mpilot/Mshipwright/Mdroidengineer, the only way we could get the ship is by buying it and judging by the difficulty of the quest(i hear it's considerably harder than dwb), people will be selling them for more than firesprays anyway!

Um, no they said when JtL came out that there would be aintergration of quests &quest rewards for the ground and space, on the ground and in space. Meaning, you can get both from both. Also, that they wouldbe making space+ground and Ground+ Space missions. What is the point of it all? To get us space only people out of space and on the ground for a little while. And to get most of the people who love the ground up in space alittle!

By "loot not auto-reward" you mean it drops one deed per group? And what kind of drop-rate?
