If you are looking for the easiest and quickest way to master, then Storm Squadron would be your best choice.

Bad pilot. No cookie.

I did Crimson Phoenixlast weekend. Did Storm Squadron the weekend before that. I think Corsec may be next on the calender for my neutral pilot.
I tell you what, those rebels sure have it easy.
hehe the Freelancers are the ones that have it easy. Just hit 4434 CorSec using a 85k mass Dunelizard, wastoo easy...up until last mission with 2 gunboats and escort. Tho maybe not, I was caught unprepared and there are NPC CorSec to help you out. Havent had a chance to try it again. Up to that point nothing ever even got through my shields.
Opposite here...gonna do SS this weekend ![]()
I think imps have the easiest way with their bomberstrikes...?
Should be a rebel campaign that has the difficulty of Storm Squadron 'cept for the fact that rebels get NO BACK-UP NPCs AT ALL!
Just a thought...
I'll concede that it is also possible that I've simply become a better pilot with better equipment; since I have Storm Squad on my checklist next, I'll certainly find out just how much better of a pilot I've been becoming...!

Well, only have done CorSec and Crimson Phoenix so far (Working on wrapping up Inquisition this weekend if all goes well, and plan to abuse myself with Storm after that); I found Phoenix loads easier than CorSec. I had needed help a few times with CorSec, but I solo'd my way through Phoenix with no problems, and so far I'm having no trouble with Inquisition.

Having done 8 out of 9 squads (all Imp, freelance and 2 rebs) I can say that using only the squadrons droid programs (except a CSS) and no ROTW (except heavy starters) that Crimson Phoenix is harder to solo.
Why, well firstly, the enemies are all your tier or higher unlike a lot of other squads and you get hit with more deadly ships. Aggressors, Ints and Advanceds. Bang for buck the NPC Int is more deadly than the NPC Awing (especially if you have to face it in a Ywing), Plus the Imp gunboats are orders of magnitude harder than reb ones. Plus, there is that tier 3 mission (the second?) that is so brilliantly tough. I think you have to fight about 12 or more tier4 tie fighters, imps, ads, and aggs with a couple of Lambdas as well, followed by another full Imp squadron. Back in the day that was my most cherished JTL mission. I had to take a whole group to do it and most died (plus, it was a mixed bag off As, Xs, Ys and z95, no ROTWs back then). When you are a freelancer or Imp at least you can overpower your engines and weapons as well as call in backup, no such crutches for the plucky rebs!

SS isnt that hard, its just that its long and full of escort missions which are so easy as to make it even more boring.

Agreed, CP was my first when JTL first came out, and yep pretty sure it was the 2nd mission in Tier 3 that was such a (*&*%& . I did manage to solo it finally, because I hated the Y-Wing and went 4333 to get out of it ![]()
I thought BE was harder than SS, though I havent done SS yet I've helped a lot of folks through the missions. Those are looong escorts!
