Ok I've been flying my Advance and it's the greatest ship to me. However I'm lacking in the Speed Department and get tired of getting constantly out run and there are times I wish I could move faster.

My Engine Stats are...

3000 Mass

1000 Energy (Or Close)

65 Speed

65 YPR

Now I'm curious. What if I got an Engine say with 75 or 80 some Speed with 5000 Mass and under. I only have 2K Mass left. How much does YPR matter in the Advance? Can I stick pretty much any Engine and Fly around the same. So would an Engine with 80 Speed, 5000 Mass, and 50 YPR be worth it? Is it even possible to create such an Engine. I'd like 85 for Speed but I would accept a little lower.

I got a little disturbed when about 12 A-Wings and B-Wings shot me down in DS. UsuallyI can take on all those fighters at once and finish them all in 3 mintues. One Problem is Speed even with EO3 I go about 800 somethin, and the Fact my Shields tend to go away in no time when they hit me together in their formations. I've also stopped using Shield Shunt since I ditched my Oppressor a few months back and looks like I need to again.

Thanks in Advance.

I strongly suggest you post your entire ship's stats here for better assistance. At a guess, I'd bet you're running a level 4 engine. Even in a TIE Advanced, you should at *least* be running a level 6 engine--the mass can be found, we probably just have to shave it off of other components. But please, post your entire loadout here.

Hi there, the TIE Advanced is an awesome ship. It's one of my favorites for sheer Damage and Maneuverability. When I'm going after big game, I used the TIE Advanced. When I'm going after fast targets such as A-Wings, I use the TIE Interceptor.

With 65k of mass you have plenty to play with. First of all you build the TIE Advanced around the engine. Engine is the number one priority.

Here's my loadout on my TIE Advanced. This is a fairly newbie build, if you're lucky and can have great 8 level 8 engines plus the NymStarmap Loot, then you can build yourself one fine engine. Otherwise go crafted. Which I did.

L1 Crafted Reactor. 1274 Mass, 11876 Energy

L9 Crafted Engine. 67.5P, 67.9Y, 66.1R, 97.7 Speed, 33K Mass

L6 RE Shield. 1450 hitpoints, 9.43 Recharge, 11402 Mass

L2 RE Armor 157hp, 1296 Mass

L2 Loot Armor 143hp, 966 Mass

L2 RE Capacitor 708.2 Energy, 31.9 Recharge, 1117 Mass

L1 RE Booster 1233 Mass, 30.2 Acc, 23.2 Speed (9 second burn)

L1 Loot Droid Interface 1238 Mass, 17.9 Speed

TIE Advanced Winglets - For Looks!

L5 RE Blaster. 1170-1779, .690/.660, 21.5 E/S, .320 Refire, 5752 Mass

L5 RE Blaster. 1162-1747, .520/.620, 34.2 E/S, .320 Refire, 6143 Mass

Chaff Launcher 942 Mass

And that's about it.

That gives me 65266/65287 Mass with basically 21 Mass left over.

As for Energy I use 11866/11876 Energy with 10 Energy left over.

The TIE Advanced is awesome. I use it to hunt down Tiers 4-5 on a regular basis. It's a fun ship, maneuvarable and have two weapons mount.

I use the TIE Advanced to change it up a little. Usually I'm in my 50K mass TIE Interceptor, which is the most fun ship to fly of them all.

I use a L6 RE reward engine 82.2 TS you can get about 70 ypr for about 9k mass (this puts your top speed at 1150)

L6 RE Shield. 1450 hitpoints, 9.43 Recharge, 11402 Mass

I use a L7 crafted 1900 f/b but this one is pretty nice

L2 RE Armor 157hp, 1296 Mass

I use L1 crafted at about 190hp for 870 mass

L2 Loot Armor 143hp, 966 Mass

L2 RE Capacitor 708.2 Energy, 31.9 Recharge, 1117 Mass

about the same but all higher

L1 RE Booster 1233 Mass, 30.2 Acc, 23.2 Speed (9 second burn)

I think I have a L1 crafted

L1 Loot Droid Interface 1238 Mass, 17.9 Speed

L5 crafted

TIE Advanced Winglets - For Looks!

L5 RE Blaster. 1170-1779, .690/.660, 21.5 E/S, .320 Refire, 5752 Mass

L5 RE Blaster. 1162-1747, .520/.620, 34.2 E/S, .320 Refire, 6143 Mass

I use a L7/6 combo that really packs a punch (IPC REand Scorcher 3 RE)

Chaff Launcher 942 Mass

I usually run EO4, RO4, WO3, CO3. It is like my interceptor on steroids.
