The Y-Wing isn't an easy ship to fly, as I'm sure you've noticed. If you can, try and get your hands on a heavy Z-95. It'll probably cost you some, but it'll do you pretty much all the way to the top.

Regarding your targetting issue, this is because hits are server based and not client based. In other words, the server decides when you get a hit. If you get a nasty lag spike, or some other glitch, you can pound your target all day and it won't register. Another annoying lag problem in space is the infamous bumblebee effect (you'll know it when you see it).

If stupidity got us into this mess then why can't it get us out of it?

I don't need to hate people on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, nationality, or any of those other things. 30 seconds of conversation usually does the trick.

Another tip is to just use the [ and ] keys to target engine or reactor and disable the ships. They'll explode on their own and it takes less time to disable rather than destroy.

You won't get the xp for the kill, but at the end of the day, the goal is to complete the mission and not to get xp - you can pick that up later at your leisure.

Thanks for the answers. And maybe you can answer this one. Where should I go to level? Should I follow the rebel trainers? Or are there places I should go to grind at designated times? Right now I just want to get to 4/3/3/3 and use an A-Wing. Then get to Master asap after that.

For low level (t1 and 2) I find the Lok Rebellion Blaze and Nym's hyper areas are good.

Beyond that, the t4 Black Sun duty mission from the pilot trainer in Nym's cantina on Lok is a good option. Or you can just head into Kessel and pop t5 ships.

read about overload chips and get a droid and chips and you can take your Y-Wing with the one little gun to the master box solo.As long as you continue to upgrade your ship as you go a use OL chips you can go far with the Y-Wing . You should not have to spend any money on components as long as you do the duty missions from your trainer most of your components will come from there. If you get OL chips those tier 2s will drop with 2-3 shots . I hope this helps

as much as I love the a-wing, I must say it's not the best pve ship out there

pvp on the other hand, it is arguably one of, if not THE best ship out there (I am finding that I fly it more and more)

it's insane speed and manuverability are kinda overkill in a pve situation, but it certainly is fun to fly

before ROTW most master reb pilots I knew flew x-wings, so try all the rebel craft, we have a good variety, and each has something to offer

Hey, I'm 1/1/1/1 in the Rebel pilot profession and am having a hard time. Now I'm on Yavin and doing the missions there. Frankly, they're kicking my butt. Sometimes I actually take so long fighting the ships on missions and quest that it times out and tells me I am taking too long. Now, I might just suck, but up until I got all the tier 1 boxes, I had been doing pretty good for myself.

I'm starting to wonder if it's because I'm flying a Y-Wing. Someone told me I should go back to a Z-95 (crafted perhaps to hold more components) because to use the Y-Wing to it's maximum potential you have to have a co-pilot.

So what do you guys think? Is there some tactics that I should learn to more efficiently kill? Should I ditch my Y-Wing and hire a shipwright to make me a Z-95 with all the best components he can make?

Oh, and that reminds me. Sometimes when I'm fighting enemies, my hits will land but literally do NOTHING. Like just a few minutes ago I was flying a mission above Corellia fighting three level threes and I got one enemy down to 0 shields and 0 armor and then landed literally 15 consecutive shots on him and they did nothing. Is that normal?

Sorry if these questions are too newbish, but I really like space combat and would like to progress in it. Especially given all the quests on Kashyyyk that require semi-difficult space missions (at least for my level). Thanks in advance.
