I'm really starting to get angry about these other pilots that are dog fighting and killing my targets...
Last night I'm in the Naboo system hunting down some tie fighters to collect some loot...and the next thing I know someone else is now shooting at my target...now not only am I not getting combat points for my kill, but I also don't get any loot...I tried to go after 20 targets last night and everyone of them where shot down by other players...
has anyone else had this problem?

This happens to many players yes. However, if you got a hit on the target, you will get exp for it, no matter who kills it.
The loot depends on who did the most damage to it though.
Normal spawns are free forall, and nobody's exclusive target. Only if it's a mission target for you, nobody else can hit it, unless they're grouped with you.
If you want sure loot, and nobody killing "your" targets, I suggest getting duty missions from one of the trainers. This provides a steady spawn of enemies, for you alone to hit

thank you for the info
unfortunatly I can't get anymore duty missions from any of the trainers...I'm unable to get passed the one mission that is based off of nyms stronghold (I don't think I spelled that right), but otherwise everything is peachy

Get some help on the mission then? I see you're on Eclipse, so when I get back home, I could lend you hand, otherwise check the helper list for someone.... with one or two wingmates most missions are easily finished.

Or just drop the mission and pick up a Duty mission from a space station, or another trainer in your Pilot profession. Rebels can get duty work from any rebel trainer, so if your trainer keeps offering a mission, and you want to grind xp instead, go see someone else. Just be aware that you won't be able to train until you get past that mission, so capping out on xps elsewhere just means you end up flying "for free"
