READ THIS: I'm posting this here as well as on the Bria forum. PLEASE put all replies on theBRIAFORUMthread. I'm just posting this here in order to capture a bigger audience. We've actually got somthing good going here Bria folk'. Lets expand on it.

Hi there.

You may have noticed the other thread I started about space pvp on Bria. Well it turns out a fair number of you are interested so I'm going to pursue this some more.

First off, a few things you might find useful.

1. The Bria pilots channel which I promised.

The purpose of this channel is to relay organisation and info between both factions prior to a battle.

How to get on:

First off, right click any of your chat channel tabs and select 'Join chat channel'

From the list select 'Bria'.

Scroll down then select 'Chat-Public Chat for this Galaxy'

Scroll down some more and you should see a channel called 'GenericPilotsRoom'

Join this and you're inside. Also, you may wish to modify that tab [right click, select modify etc] in order so you can see group chat and instant messages too.

2. PvP Events.

They'll be happening every saturday and each week there will be a different theme so please try and stick to the rules. -Anyone- is welcome. I mean, for the Deepspace events, only master status pilots can fly, but it doesn't stop anyone bringing two seater ships so a non master can fly as gunner.

The time of 'day' we'll be setting them for will be around 5/6pm EST [which I think is around 12am for us Brits] but it seems to be the time when most people are on. This of course, isn't completely rigid and is liable to change.

3.Types of events. Now this will vary and ideas fr events have been posted in other threads however here are a few of the main ideas.

Firstly, group pvp in Deepspace, any ship allowed. Now this is the like the creme de la creme ships vs. each other here and is where all your saving for decent reverse engineered gear will pay off because I know there are some excellent pilots flying excellently kitted out ships. I'll always be flying my A-wing in this event and my stats are posted on the pilot forum. [when I say any ship is welcome, I mean any ship...even POB ships, JSF's etc.]

Secondly, POB Ship wars. This is where we take up a number of Multiplayer ships on each side and pit them against each other. This is a test of team work and has the potential to be good fun. I knwo the starsider guys have tried this where they used lvl 5 crafted blasters in order to mke battles last longer too. I think that'd be cool.

Thirdly, [and this is the one I'm looking forward to most because it'll be the most balanced] 'Heavy variant starter ship wars'.

Now this is where as you will have guessed, only Z-95's, Heavy TIES and Heavy Sycks are allowed and this will take place outside of Deepspace. Because of the decay and also to make it more fun and balanced, crafted parts of a certain level will only be allowed to be used for engines, blasters and shields.

^ This lasttype of event ensures these things:

A. Even new'ish pilots can join in

B. We can make use of any system because even though there is decay involved outside of DeepSpace, these are throw away ships with crafted parts so it really doesn't matter too much.

C. It'll give the shipwrights more business and possibly bring down the general average prices of these heavy ships [because 500k for a heavy variant is too expensive]

D. Everyone's handling will be more or less the same so no one pilot will have a distinct advantage over anyone else. True piloting skills will come more into the picture.

RULES:

This is a general common sense bit and a rule ofthreeand I know I'm preaching to the choir but it has to be stated.

1.No load/hyper killing. - This is where you kill a pilot while they're loading into/out of a zone and is very,very lame. We're pilots. I know loadkilling is seen as tactical on the ground, but we have more courtesy than that. Even though you're invincible for a few seconds while you load...it still counts as a load kill if you camp and wait for the enemy pilot to hit the throttle only to blast them once they moved 1 metre. So don't do it, it isn't nice or welcome.

2.No Exploited parts no matter what the event. I -know- most of the people who do this and all they're doing is unbalancing the game in an unforgiveable way by doing this. It is obvious if you have a exploited shield etc so don't do it while you're participating in one of these events.

3.No flaming/griefing/you know ...general abuse through tells or even email [yep..happened to me once]. So basically, be nice no matter what. If anyone does start griefing, report it to your group leader or me. Also, if you have a grievence..grief me instead of someone else taking part. I can take a lot of flak.

Ok..thats the 'official serious part' out of the way.

I am working on getting an actual forum organised so watch this space.

Any ideas for events are more than welcome. They'll all be considered and put in the line to actually happen.

Ok so if you're interested, please do these few things so its easier to keep track and everyone informed.

1.Email me in game with your character name, faction and your preffered ship for the 'anything goes' events.

2.See the top of this thread and add GeneralPilotsRoom to your chat channel bar. All Info will be put in there at some point.

3.Grab a starter ship chassis which is relevant to your faction.

Oh... you may be able to get a cheaper one if you go mining for the materials first. You'll need 1k of petrochemical [from Yavin space] and 1k of Iron [From Tatooine Outer Rim]. Any decent shipwright should give you a heavy reduction after this. I'll also be mining for Heavy ship resources and any I give out will be at a reduced price. [don't spam me for them though..I'm not a shipwright myself.]

Ok lastly, please bare in mind that this will take a while to get working smoothly. It won't 'just happen'. It is up to everyone who takes part to be patient and friendly, regardless of faction [which I'm sure everyone will be]. So lets work together and really show Starsider that we can have a good pvp scene too .
