I've heard two different things from two different people for how you fight in Deep Space if your a Freelancer.
First,I was told that if your a freelancer, when you zone into Deep Space you have to pick either Rebel or Imperial.
Second, I heard that each Freelance squadron is its OWN side in Deep Space, effectively meaning there are 5 teams in Deep Space.
Which is correct, or is neither correct?

The first thing you heard is true. All freelancers have to either pick Imp, or Reb. Now in kessel freelancers can be either imp or reb, by going overt at your local faction starbase. You can also go into kessel as a neutral, but this is bugged. The bug is when you go into deep space as a imp lets say(happens to reb too) you stay imp in kessel. Now the only way to get around that is to take everything off of your ship and re-deed it.
