Can someone tell me what part I need to upgrade and stat of the part, that will stop me from burning out caps when using engine overload 4?

Need more info.

Your capacitor is damaged when you run EO4? Or it just stops working? You're replacing the capacitor entirely?

Running EO4 draws a massive amount of power, most likely you're maxing out the energy your reactor can provide. When you don't produce enough energy, components start shutting down. You can run Reactor Overload commands to compensate.

Next time you run EO4, hit V and check the status of your components. If any have a pyramid or padlock icon, it means they're either turned off because of no power or functioning below spec due to low power.

well what happens is I run EO4 then cap drops to zero and doesn't seem to recharge, I'm forced to put in a new cap. I will try what you said and see what happens.

What you do mean by "forced"? If you land and then take off, or repair (which disables EO4), does the cap start recharging again?

Definitely sounds like a power issue to me, but checking the V screen will tell you for sure.

Read the FAQ information on droid programs. Running EO4 increases the reactor drain, and will power down other systems if you don't have enough energry generation. Your cap stops working because the program doesnt reset correctly even when you land. You need to run a reset program, or use one of the "Emergency" Pilot specials to reset the power systems. The only other options is to re deed the ship. The caps are fine and will work in other ships or after you reset the ship. Before you try this again, do some number crunching and figure out how much power you need. Figure out what your power output will be after running reactor overload, and what your total drain will be after all other overloads are run. The reactor overload should be run before anything else.

Yep, so you're killing your reactor Stop running EO4 until you get a better reactor or run RO3 or 4. And do what bunny said.

That's really odd, I've never run into EO not resetting. Is it just EO4, all engine overloads, or all L4 overloads that do this?

I can't say for sure since I never underpower my ships, but Im basing it on other reports from people who got stuck.

Happens all the time, and it's really annoying. Redeed your ship, or as mentioned above run a program like Emergency Weapons.

Look for the link in the guide linked in my sig (how's that for directions - I think it's also in the pilot FAQ) and you'll find a comprehensive breakdown of exactly how much power each program runs. Do some math on your equipment and figure out exactly what you need to power the overloads you're running.

My reactor produces only 50 more regen than I need to run my overloads. Beautiful!

Ive got a capacitor that has 0/0 for charge after i repaired it (have got a lesser stat capacitor of a CSR already to replace it).

Just wondering if i can fix it anyway, since it was/is my best cap

I don't think so. Never happened to me, but Tomo posted somewhere mentioning it is a known bug and how it happens, and your only choice is to hope a CSR will save you, or replace it.
