Thread: Best way to take out a Lambda class shuttle?
Target Weapon 1, which is the turret and after you blow the shields and armor, you will quickly take out that weapon.
Your best bet for doing so is to get behind it, throttle at max, use your booster, when you get in range, blast away and then dive and fly out of range. Rinse and repeat.
However, if you can fit a Concussion mission tube on your fighter, use a few of those, which will eat through shields something fierce and then work on the armor and the rear gun.
Approach from underneath to about 800m, cycle through targets, select engines, then move in, at maybe 1/3rd throttle, at about 300-250 meters, pull "up", full throttle for like 10 seconds, nose "down" toward the underside again, rinse, repeat.
It's blind spot is smaller than some of the other ships, so be careful, and you should be ok.
Another option that I used was to come at it at full throttle, at 600m hit your boosters, strafe the engines, at about 700-800 meters, pull away, wait for your booster to recharge, then go again. Once it's disabled, go again for the underside.
Hey thanks for the help, guys.
Well unfortunately in my present state I can't get a booster attached to my ship..... KAHN!!!!! So what I think I'm gonna do is slow in to underside, one I'm in range take a few shots, turn tail and fly out of range fast. repeat. My friend might be helpin me with this tonight so I may have him try to do the same except on the topside.
Thanks again
I find the underside best. I tend to come screaming in from underneath, and then match speed in that small blind spot on their belly.
I pay REALLY close attention though, cuz about 3 or 4 hits from that tail gun will wipe me, so if I see the red flash, I hit W to scoot forward and then match speed again. I can usualy disable the engine pretty quickly, then just hang out underneath and wax him.
This method worked for the first couple Lambda's (been doing the same missions this week), but near the top of Tier 3, they start getting VERY erratic and tough. The method still works, but it is much more nervewracking! ![]()
In those second cases, I find myself jousting with them, depending on how the pilot flies. I believe that Colonel Hend was the first guy that is really out of control with the flying, but I could be wrong.
Good luck!
Yeah that's what I figured, I mean, if what you guys say is true and it's fixed cannons on the front then I'm gonna loop to his front after taking out his escort, then come in at about a -35 degree angle and then once I get under and close I'm gonna turn around and match speed. That way, the majority of the ship's bulk will block his turret from getting a bead on me. Thanks for validating my theory, guys.
