Obviously you never checked the end of the course to make sure the gunboat escort wasn't there.

Here's what SOE needs to do: place a big red button with a big letter "L" on it so people who can't see fit to enjoy this game can press when they can't stand to wait for the next corvette to show up. Seriously, the Corvette isn't your run the mill spawn camp, you will need to pal up with at least 5 other skilled pilots to take it out. There mayeven be people you will find to group with out there looking for it just like you. I followed that thing for 2 days watching what it did and I can tell you it may have not been the biggest fun for the buck but GET INTO THE SPIRIT! This is a ship that is supposed to be hard to find, what do you want, signs? Kessel is not hard if you don't shoot at anything, nothing aggro's on you unless you want it to. So get out there and learn the sector and have some fun for pete's sake.
The Corvette is HUGE, you can see it from 6k off, also use your "nearest base" key occasionally, it will get tagged when you use it. It follows the same path, so check around the net for the spawn points (there's more than one out there, learn which one that is your goal), then go find it. I hear rumors of 1.5 hours between spawns, that is if it's not interrupted, but my observations seem to fit more of the 2.5 window, with a .5 hour transit time.
Lastly, it's a load of fun, quite an accomplishment, and puts a completely new light on the piloting skill. No more XP chasing now, just challanges to my ability as a pilot. Star Destroyer here I come!!!!
P.S. I attended 3 of these things before I mastered, and have done one since. They are a LOT of fun, so it's worth the wait to find it.

Ive just done the Corvette i did the Rebel one this time and its a hell of alot easier then doing the Imp one
i had master Imps helping me and those bomber strikes kick ass
all i had to do was take care of the fighter escort then once the corvettes engines were disabled they let me take it out
the imp one, jeez that was nasty with those tie aggressors , i died a few times doing that one
to find the Corvette you need to wait at one of two wp's 7000 7000 7000 for the starwotsit and 0 0 0 for the Rebel corvette
they can take upto 90 minutes to spawn i waited over a hour but they turn up eventually

The final stage to get master pilor for some is to take down a corvette. In this case, 8 people fly around for over 41/2 hours in the Kessel section and never see one.
What the hell is SOE thinking. I don't see how this contributes to fun gameplay. Get your act together

I followed the Reb Corvette the other day and the imp NPC's nearly took it out by themselves. With aggressors guarding the Imp Corvette, you won't see that ever happen, best I saw was one or 2 guns taken down a notch.

I got my master mission kinda by accident. I had the Vette mission in my datapad and I went into Kessel to see if I could find one, just to see how it acted and where it went and what were the escorts. I found one after a few minutes, got luckey I guess. After I targeted it I noticed it was taking damage so I went in closer and there was a group on it.
They must have been pretty good because they took out both gunboats by the time I got in range. The engines were dead and it was just floating in space so I went in with guns a-blasting. Everybody was hammering it and when it blew up I got the master mission. I didn't expect it because I wasn't grouped or anything.

Haha, I agree, Corvettes are fun... on my master mission,I only had 1 reckless but talented Imperial pilot to assist me (Icoor, he had reasons to be confident, the guy is good), and we waited for a while in Kessel. He was off killing stuff in Kessel, I was sitting at the spawn point, waiting, organizing for more people to join us.
As they were on their way, my radar screen completely fills up with yellow dots as, not one, but TWO rebel corvettes jumped in, complete with full escorts. I sent mad tells all over to everyone, Icoor gets there, starts working them and I start working the escorts.
Then Eaca finally arrives, followed by my dear friend Sha're (who had just finished her own Imperial corvette for Master less than 1 hour before), plus 1-2 more, and the rest is history. I barely did anything against the corvette, I was so scared, good thing I had good people to take the lead on it. The first one got destroyed, my master mission was complete, and we worked on the second one.
I was a lil disappointed by space at first, but I must admit, the more you play and the farther you get, boy! How much fun it is! It truly captures the Star Wars feeling and is by far the most "Star Warsy" thing in this game.

One of the many joys of the corvette is that you just haveto be present within 2000m of it when it blows up to get the mission passed.you dont haveto fire a single shot at it, and youll get the mission. You wont get any of the XP, nor the shear feel of accomplishment, but at least its do able for people, who havent been so lucky in components, or piloting skill.
One of the many joys of the game, is the sense that you have earned something. Power gamers hate the game, because they dont earn anything really, and become bored after the first week after they master everything.
Earn youre skills. An elite master pilot would take 10 or 15 years to earn that title, and you can do it in 3 weeks. Get over it, and play the game already.

Man I wish I had been given the option to take out the rebel vette. No agressors mean the escort is about 90% faster to clear out. Target gun 2 on the rear gunboat, shoot, watch the fireworks. Rinse repeat and then it's yours.

I'm doing maste for the third time. first was reb then my jedi got neutral and it was so good I droped reb on my main for neutral. I think for kicks this time I am going to solo my vette mission. I nearly got it this mornin. found it nearly through it's travel but still got the fighters and gunboats and then guns on the vette to half before it hypered. I'll just wait at the spawn point this time and it'll be all mine from the get go

managed to solo it doing everything in order but I'll remember that nest time. I'll use the bombs on the shields and engine to make it easy.
