Just a quick question ..... sorry if it is addressed elswhere, i've read the walkthrus and searched the other posts, if its there i couldn't find it .... Do I really need 7.5 million xp to become a master or do i just need to complete the quests. This was the case for tier 3 when i was wokring for jabba, once a quest was completed i was trained regardless of xp. Reason i would like to know is that if i need the 7.5m then I can grind, if i only need the quests i can focus on those.
Thanks
Thanks

DO NOT get the xp!!! Do the two quests (firsts easy, second takes a group thats organized).... I feel pitty for those who got the xp first... I wonder if you can skip the quests if you get the xp? I don't think anyone has tried! Lol.

pretty sure he won't train you even if you get the xp
its easy enough to quest for anyway
just ask around for aces that will help you out
its not impossible

Yarrr, it can be soloed. Just fly carefully. Equipment is your prerogative.

Yes it can be soloed. First move in to aggro the fighter escort and pull away to kill them out of range of the vettes guns. Then move on to the vette itself. The key is to destroy gun 5 first. Gun 5 is the only weapon on the bottom of the vette, destroying it will make the bottom of the vette a safe zone.
I approach from behind and below (approx a 30 degree angle), spiral in towards gun 5, fire, and boost away to the front and below.
Once i'm about 1.5 km away I approach from the front and slightly below (approx a 15 degree angel) and destroy the two shield generators and again boost out and away (assuming that gun 5 was destroyed in the first pass, if not repeat the first attack run).
Once the shields are down attack the engines from behind and below again (approx 45 degree angle this time).
Once the engines are down move off and wait for the gunboats to move away from the vette.
When the gunboats are out of range move in and take out the remaining guns on one side.
Make sure that you stay below their attack angle. Move under the vette to repeat this on the other side.
Then move above the vette and destroy the reactor.
Then in front to destroy the bridge.
The last step is to hunt down the 2 gunboats and finish them off. If you don't kill the gunboats they'll sit at the exit point and the vette won't spawn for other pilots.
As far as ships for master pilot it depends on your faction and flight style, and components depend on the ship you have. However in PVP agility is the most important factor.

You're not getting a firm answer, especially since we don't even know your pilot faction. Really, you know all there is to know about soloing the Vette (except for watching out for it rolling) and ship choice is just that - CHOICE. You could probably take the Vette in a Y-Wing if you know what you're doing and can dogfight in it...
