I am on the first ace mission (I believe), where I have to destroy 2 bothan engineer transports, capture and escort a 3rd, and then blow up the rebel command vessel. I am getting my butt kicked, and even brought a couple friends this last time. Any tips on strategies for this mission? The rebel command group consists of 2 tier 3 GB's, one tier 4 GB, and about 8 fighters (tier 4 assorted). Any tips/help would be appreciated. If anyone would like to group up and help, that would be greatly appreciated. Btw, I'm actually not too bad, so me sucking isnt the total problem (though probably most of it).

Thanks

Im on Lowca, and I was the only imperial...others were freelance pilots. My bomberstrike didn't work (figures) so that hurt. I'm starting to wonder if the 'vette is the easier mission.

that mission is pretty tough, but definately soloable if you are using the equipment/droid commands for your level. it's really hard without the bomberstrike though. the crappy part is doing those damn escorts at the beginning.

when you do the escorts be sure to use the trick where you leave 1 ship from each wave half destroyed (not disabled) that makes the mission bearable because you can just follow the transport and not do anything for the rest of the escort.

then at least if you fail a few times at the end the beginning isn't so bad. try again and bomberstrike, then pick off the fighter escorts. if you have friends again have the person with the biggest guns attack then boost away, then the rest of you hit the gunboats from underneath while they chase him, until they pick a new target, then have that person run.

Will start from the basics: Droid Commands are essential. If you can run WO3, EO3, CO3, RO3 and have CTSS3/4 handy you are fine. CTSS3/4 combined with overloaded capacitor will save your life many a time. You will soon think of your capacitor as backup shielding more than weapon power (especially if you have WO3 in it's current state running too).

Use bomber strike mostly to tie the fighters (no pun intended) up somewhat and joust the gunboat. It will turn and chase you so all of your shots will be hitting the same half of the gunboat. Roll as you come in on your attack run, tends to put off the AI gunnery somewhat.

Survival is the key and those droid commands give you that.

I may well be teaching my grandmother to suck eggs here, if so, my apologies. But, with those running, you shouldn't have all that much of a problem.

Good luck.

Been so long since I aced storm, but I do know this is not one of the two ace missions, which are kill 30 rebs in kessel and kill the rebel vette in kessel.

Is this the tier 4 exit mission? If that's the case, you can actually skip the mission and go straight to the admiral in theed palace and get your kill 30 mission. You can come back and do that exit mission any time later. I and several friends did that.

Would still be worth doing this mission though. If you can't do this mission you may have a whole world of trouble doing the vette.

i just got this mission last night, escort is of course the boring part wave after wave of awings and a few xwings. /yawn but then out of no where spawns the MOB t4 GB and a t3 nova. no big woop. i thought wrong i guess. the mission before that was looking to be harder then this one but i lag REALLY bad in dant space. weird, i dont' see why i have to have all the asteroids. anyway, it ruined the mission because i was screen jumping around and couldn't stay on the snubs and the gunship melted my shields and armor..KABOOM! being disabled is quite a terrible feeling watching your systems get reduced then you have to hit the eject button. oh well. this is my formal request for help. i am on valcyn. Iscra was a great help with a previous mission and with droid commands so thank you VERY much for enlightening me. i went out and got a tier four droid and commands for it so i should be a little more prepared this time. anyone want to help me out i would love it! i am master smuggler on ground so i will give you the big hook up if you help me out. be on around 8:30pm est

I solo'd this mission last night. the 2 tier 3 gunboats are actually novas... ignore the real gunboat (using bstrike on it could help.... I didn't use it so I wouldn't know)and hit the novas first... they should die in one or two passes but keep moving so that you don't take too much damage from the gunboat. Use CTSS4 as needed. After the novas are dead try to stay away from the gunboat and kill the fighters. Then joust the gunboat... remeber they have a massive blindspot below them. I know it moves but with some creative flying you can do it.

thanks for info...i had trouble with lag and targeting. but i will be looking to kill tonight! i would love to get that one out of the way.i think thetier4droid commands will makea huge difference since its all gonna be css4 and weapons overload. here is my biggest question: do i actually have to grind out 7.5mil xp? or is it a freebie for finishing the missions? i know that is a noob question but i didn't see it in FAQ
