Thread: Gotta calm down

Wee, Storm Squadron! I'm back to 2332 now. Third mission, joy. Tried it for the first time today. Did pretty well, but failed. One stupid a-wing left over on just about every wave when the next one spawned. I'm getting practice, but I think my main problem is that I get too upset with myself. I've always had a problem following ships, especially the smaller ones. Knowing that I have a time limit is causing me to agonize over every missed turn. Which, in turn, causes me to screw up more because I'm to busy getting upset at myself for screwing up. Not a good cycle. Won't help.

So now, I need to calm down. Get my mind off the time limit. Just kind of let things not worry me so much. I just have no idea how to do that. Any tips? I'm going to go make some chicken soup now.

The only thing I can say is that all imperial pilots should go 2223 first, then 2323. WO3 will really make things easier, use the rest of the overcharges and cap to shield shunt, and it will all make a huge difference.

I'm using a pre-loaded TIE. I've had full droid commands running from the first time I launched into space in SS. I went with 2232 first because I was hoping BStrike would help here. It didn't.

Do you have missiles to soften them up first? I have to admit even after all the A-Wings I have killed I hate those things. Nice now that I have finally upgraded my weapons that they are gone in 3-4 shots in deepspace.

I hate b-wings. They are so slow you have to reduce to about 30% throttle and then the stupid thing out turns you. I much prefer a-wings. At least they let my ship stretch its legs.

Frankly, I am sick of both. But b-wings seem to fall more easily to me, so they don't earn quite the same level of hatred that a-wings do.

If its an escort mission, I find it alot easier and faster to disable engines than actually destroying. Sure you don't get xp/loot, but thats what duty missions are for really. I am willing to lose that extra bit of money/xp to win the mission.

That's the issue, though. This particular escort is tricky. I can handle normal escorts without a problem. This one requires you to destroy all four ships that are attacking you BEFORE the next wave spawns. Evil, evil, evil.

Hmmm, I'm gonna have to drop reb in a bit to try out storm squadron. Wish I had the time...
