Thread: Rebel 4/3/3/3 Whats a good load out to not get crushed?
Cap shield shunt 4 or 3 is worth its weight in gold, and couple it with weapons cap adjust 3, you'll have a much better survival rate.
Make sure you get a decent capacitor that has a good recharge rate as you'll need it with the shield shunt.
Also, it might be worth considering getting your freelance pal to give you a reactor overload 2/3 chip and then using that with a lower rated reactor that has less mass.
I pack as many big guns as I can (easier at the moment as this is my second squad and I have all my components from last mastery). At the moment I have 3 lv6-7 guns at 2600-2700 max damage.
I don't bother with missiles.
Your tier 3 reward engine is pretty sweet - not a bad speed and PYR for the mass.
I'd recommend a counter measures package and if you can fit a booster, great.
As for shields, I'd rather pack bigger shields and less armour, as the shield shunt will hopefully mean your shield will rarely be breached.
At the moment, with that load I can manage the black sun duty missions when you get swarmed by about 6 tier 4s.
I know it might seem obvious as well, but if you're not in need of the xp to level, and just need to take ships out to complete a mission, then go for the disable and leave them to blow up themselves. It takes less time to do and slows the spawn rates, helping you get time to recover.
Hope that helps.
As the above posters have stated the Droid Programs are life savers if you have not used them you should. Now as far as loadout I have a level 8 RE'd Blaster and 1 level 7 Crafted Disruptor and 1 Level 7 Crafted Ion cannon along with a Mark3 Proton Launcher. For Armor I am using 2 RE'd Reward level 6 Armor with mass at about 4-5k. I crafted my own Reactor and Shields to get the most out of them with the lowest Mass. The Reactor is level 5 and theShieldI think is level 7. My engine and Cap are both RE'd Loot that have low mass and are old parts from JTL Launch. I may have a few parts that could help you with your loadout. Send me a tell in game and I will see what I have that could Help or I will make you a few. I also wanted to talk to you about a few other things so contact me or next time I see ya on I will send you a tell.

I've got a toon in about the same spot. It is my second Pilot master attempt. I'm flying a standard X (100100 mass). I've got 2 lvl7 crafted Rapid fire (.28 or so refire) weapons both with only about a .48 vs shield/armor and 15k-25k damage the 3rd weapon is a RE'ed lvl 6. A re'ed lvl 7 shield (around 18kF/B and 11recharge), RE lvl 5 armor, Crafted lvl5 engine, Crafted lvl3 booster, RE'ed lvl1 or 2 reactor (about 11500 power) and a RE'ed lvl2 capacitor (38Recharge 1000 storage). With Reactor overload 3, Engine OL3, WeaponCapacitor OL3, Weapon OL3, and Cap2ShieldShunt 4. With this setup I rip though the BS duty mission. The bigest help is the set of OL programs used. Find the full set of OL3's and the one C2SS4 and your set.
My crafted engine is only around 95 top speed as I put the rest of my experimentation into YPR (around 63 I think).
Hope this helps...
- RE lvl 2 or 4 Capacitor, try for a 43+ Recharge and a 1400 or higher Energy pool
- RE Lvl 2 or 4 Booster. Search the Forums using Mandal Motors "M". Grab one of those and 3 excellent ones to go with it and you can end up with a Booster with 2K Energy Pool, and up to a 20 Second Burn time. (Mine has 2K Pool, 51 Recharge, 141 Usage, and 26 Speed).
- Lvl 1-3 or 4 Reactor. I've seen lvl 1's RE out as high as, err, possibly a low 12K, Mass is Light. Even so, throw on a Reactor Overload chip, if you need it, and it's possible to shave Mass here.
These three Items can all be excellent AND low Mass. Chips, again, are key. While you May end up grabbing your Heavy X-Wing, Low Mass strategies are here to stay. When the urge hits you to jump in your A-Wing, and give that a shot, you'll think your X-Wing was the Taj Mahol, comparitively.
For Engines I still use an RE'd LvL 6, it's not anywheres near as fast as the One SW poster here (it's 82.2), but the PYR is ALOT better. 65 is just not enough, especially in an X-Wing. 70's seem to be minimum. Get yourself a VERY decent lvl REd Engine (Lvl 7s are junk, as are lvl 5s and Lvl 3s), and you'll noticea Huge difference, if you roll, or tumble at all. Forget taking out Tier V droid fighters with a Fast, but damped down PYR engine. Those things Move.
I'm saving up lvl 8 Engines for REing my Nyms, I'm over a dozen, so far, and nothing better than a 71.x.
The Loot you grab in Space is your answer to what to put in your ship. I caught a friend puting a Raw, lvl 4, 1980 Pool Booster on his vendor for 4500. Look through your stuff! It's worth far more than you think it is.
For the Heavy X-Wing, do you do escort missions or destroy missions?
Me and a friend are 4/3/3/3 can we do the quest?
