How many Mark II spacebombs does it take todestroya T5 gunboat?

Is that like a Zen question? What is the sound of one hand clapping sorta thing? If a gunboat explodes in Deep Space, and no one is around to see it, who gets the faction?

it takes 3 Spacebombs.... then i get pissed off and shoot it w/ my RE'ed Tri-cannons and *clap with 1 hand* again*

I don't like seeing 15k worth of resources go up in smoke, personally. Especially as decent twinL7 REd guns can put out the same damage as a Mark II Spacebomb in about 2 seconds.

The point is: I suck at taking out gunboats and I want to helpa friend get his Vaksai. Since they fixed the mission and the GBs now deal damage to the vette.

Well, I soloed this one in a Heavy Scyk, without destroying the gunboats. I just kept them busy, like a mosquito keeps an elephant busy You can get them to agro on you and leave the Corvette mostly alone.


Or, do what everyone else does, and wait until the last possible moment to disabled it. You get one gunboat, max. Cut-off point is about 4k out from the Station, I think.

Don't attack the gunboats at all. I just steered clear of them, the corvette keeps them at bay long enough to make the jump. I completed this quest for the reb mission and helped a friend of mine complete it for the vaksai. Just hang back and let the vette defend, oh and keep a good distance, because when the vette jumps, you are lunch for 3 pissed off gbs.

No it doesn't. I just tried it; they must have fixed it since I did it for my X-wing. The gunboats now do damage to the bridge.The flight path was changed.... so I hear.

When i got the heavy X and Vaksai the GB would hit the reactor and bridge if i took out the vettes guns prior to capturing it. (they respawn and shoot back but arent counted as hit spots anymore) if you left the guns the GB's would hit the reactor/bridge still IF there was a gun left alive once all the guns had been destroyed the vette would be invincible.
Havent tried it in the last 1-2 weeks so its possible there was a stealth 'fix'



Oh and by leaving it completely alone with all guns it made it almost within 2k (started 8k away) before they killed all the guns and it turned invincible, so its still quite possible if you wait till it gets close. Another thing is although i havent tested it or anything, only 2 spawns usually occur at once so you could not shoot any of the first fighter only waves and the GB may not spawn.

Usually three full spreads of three at 25-27k max damage. That's probably a touch overkill, though.I haven't bothered trying to be surgical about it. If you're refering to the NPC versions of POBs, you can get away with parking your ship and pounding it with guns. I nailed a VT-49 like that last night before the YE-4 ripped me apart in Deep Space (I wasn't trying to win, just goofing off on a repair run. I'd been solo showboating in Kashyyyk outdamaging an Imperial in his Crimson TIE against those T3 capital ships at the station.)

I dont even use spacebombs lol, the only ones i've ever used were Mark III concussion missiles whihc did 9k+ dmg on impact, and that was only when doign vette runs to make stuff go a little easier. Most of the tiem i never use any ordinances at all

Ive got a few left over from my space noob days when they were supposedly the only things that would hurt the vette (didnt know you had to shoot certain parts of it). But other than that i havent and dont use missles, blasters are cheaper and more powerful (since you just keep on shootin )

Understandable, I keep them because there's some things you just don't park your Nova Courier in front of and go running down the hall.
