i have an old MS Sidewinder 3dpro but creative decided not to have a joystick port on my model of sound card so im wondering whats a good USB stick? i know that Thurstmaster is proven and have been around since people have been flying things on PCs.

I have a Saitek USB Gold joystick and really like it. Its very comfortable and the buttons are all readily accessible.

Logitech 3D Extreme Pro with twist handle... goes for aobut 30 bucks

the Saitek goes for 50+

determine your price range and pick one of those... this has been asked a few times and the logitech and saitek are the most used. If you can go to a store and check out the displays models before you buy... the logitech is a bit stiff and some people don't like it but I love mine

You could get a Saitek ST290 Pro for $20 at the local walmarts. It's plug and play with twist and a throttle.

I got my Saitek for $30 on sale at Circuit City. /shrug

However, I fully agree with you about going to the store and trying them out. Thats how I decided on mine. I got to mess with it and it was the best fit for me, features, comfort, and price wise.

I'd be a bit weary of logitech sticks, so far ive gone through 4 extreme 3d pros (good thing i took a warranty out for it).

they have a great feel and the buttons are nicely placed, however after about 3 months the twist handleloses calibration. every single one ive ever had has done this.

right now im using my friends thrustmaster top gun fox2 pro, and it seems pretty decent.
