I'm a reb 3333 pilot. I just got my X-wing last night. It came with the "junkyard" standard texture style. I immediately went out and purchased a style 4 kit.....I'd use it and nothing would happen. No error message and no complete message. I thought the texture kit might be bugged so I tried it on another ship and it worked find. I went back to the vender and bought another one and same thing....no retexture.....I went and purhased 5 different texture kits (style 1,2,5,6, and Xwing style 8)....and none will work. I uused a paint kit and it worked fine on the X-wing......what am I doing wrong? There has to be something really stupid I'm missing....

How many ships are in your datapad? For some odd reason, if you recently generate a ship and it goes into slots 4 - 6, you can't texture it. However, after you log out and back in again later (not right away), your newest ship(s) will be in slots 1 - 3 where you can texture them.

If you still can't texture it in slots 1 - 3. do a /bug on it.

Hope this helps

I believe you have to launch, hyperspace somewhere, land, then log out to get your ship to jump to slot 1. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. Otherwise, take apart and deed your Z95 to make room, it's not like you'll be using it again. Once the X-wing is in slots 1-3, it will texture.

When you say you got your X-Wing, do you mean the quest reward Heavy X-Wing? If that is the case, I believe you need to use one of the two "X-Wing Texture Kits" that are almost impossible to find and rediculously expensive because they need a random asteroid chuck to make them. I have the same problem with my Heavy X-Wing, but I haven't been able to get the "X-Wing Texture Kit" yet to be sure this solution works. I am pretty sure that is the problem though. If you are talking about a regular X-Wing...well, I don't know.

Wow, I can't believe that is your in-game name, lol. I hope you have a backup name in mind when a CSR tells you that you need to change it.

No you can texture your heavy X-wing with any texture kit. BTW the special X-wing textures look pretty bland. I've tried them both.

Wish it was that easy... i tried that and several other stunts. I don't know what affects the order of ships there, i tend to suspect that ships have some internal Model-ID according to which they are sorted.

To retexture my YT-1300 i had to redeed three ships, texture the YT, then create them again and paint them one after another. Though, as you don't loose money when doing that, except texture and paint kits, it's mostly a thing to remember which component was supposed to be in which ship...

When I logged on this morning the X-wing was still in slot 4. As soon as I went to a starship terminal it shuffled them and it was first and I retextured it.

CSR has already seen my name. They took issue with the surname and not the first name....the CSR deleted my last name so IGN is just "Sphlytic".....I just never updated my signature.....

I've had this happen also with my X-Wing. The only solution was to uload everything, then deed the ship, and regenerate it. Worked fine since.

Well, I stand corrected, and happily so. I guess I will finally get a cool paint job on my Heavy X-Wing tonight. Thanks for this info.
