Ok, I'm looking for any advice I can get on this mission. I know there's a list of pilot helpers, but I'd like to tackle this alone if possible. Right now I'm a rebel pilot 3/3/3/2 flying an X-Wing with a level 2 astromech.

Spoilers for the mission...

.
.
.

The mission is for me to kill and Imperial Hero in Endor space. That's the easy part. TIE Advanced, 2 Interceptors, 4 regulars, all at once. I can get through that without a scratch past the shields. Next up, I'm navigating a patrol route through asteroids. After 2-3 waypoints, it says I'm spotted and have to deal with a group of 3 TIEs. I believe they were TIE Advanceds, but I'm not sure. Occasionally there's a problem there, because I can end up with a group of 3 Aggressors/Oppressors on me. If that happens, I'm boned. Game over, man.

Now, assuming I survive that part, I arrive at a YT-1300 that I have to dock with. Oh, and there's 3 TIEs incoming. I've tried disabling their engines, I've tried destroying them. Either way, another 3 waves will come. I did sit there at one point killing wave after wave, but it seems like they're endless. My solution was to use the IFF scramble to give me time to dock, but that still leaves me with 6 TIEs once I'm done, and my shields aren't at full because the TIEs recover while I'm still waiting for the transfer to complete. Oh, and that's assuming again that there are no unexpected visitors.

After that, I apparently have to save some rebels fighting elsewhere, but I never survive that long. And hyperspacing out anytime after the enemies on the patrol route ambush me will cause instant failure, so that isn't an option.

So, any recommendations? I'll post the info on my ship below, just incase there's any parts sorely in need of an upgrade. Heck, I might even need to switch to a Longprobe for the extra mass, but I'd rather not spend my life savings here. I only have 215K to work with here.

X-Wing | Mass 90111/98288 | Energy 11928/12844 | Chassis 1669/1669

Reactor | Mass 2187.2 | Generation Rate 12843.9

Front Armor | Armor 898.6 | Mass 3987.1
Rear Armor | Armor 1015.5 | Mass 9180.8
Capacitor | Drain 747.0 | Mass 3876.9 | Energy 941.7 | Recharge 41.8
Booster |Drain 450.0|Mass 3055.3|En 2039.4|Chg 51.0|Burn 155.3|Accel 37.4|Top 26.1
Droid Int | Drain 495.8 | Mass 7643.3 | Speed 16.6
Weapon 1&2|Drain 2405|Mass 14665.4|Dam 1614-2496|Vs s&a .47|En/Shot 23.6|Refire .36
No Weapon 3
MKIII Proton | Drain 1062.5 | Mass 5388.8 | Dam 2871.6-7333.9
R5 L2 | Shield Normalization & Medium Reinforcement

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help. My ship was much weaker than that when I first tried this mission, but even the upgrade doesn't seem to help. I'm a bit reluctant to spend any more cash than I have to unless someone else is confident the changes will get me through this mission.

i noticed you listed shield reinforcement for droid programs but not the 'standard' loadout of reactor overload, engine overload, cap overload and cap to shield shunt, weapon overload is optional at this level but would certainly help. if you aren't running those then i'd say thats your problem with this mission, no amount of upgrading can make the same difference as those overloads will.

at 3/3/3/2 you should be able to use reactor, engine, cap and weapon overload 3 with cap to shield shunt 3, the shield reinforcement programs aren't going to help you much until you start going after gunboats really in my expirence.

cap to shield shunt is basically a heal for shields that uses your caps energy. the level 3 shunt will use 75% of your current stored energy so with cap overload you get alot more out of it.

I'd think about dropping the proton launcher and using a much lighter rear armour, and putting the weight into a better shield. The advice about droid programs is a good idea, the Rebel programs aren't worth that much in many situations. As for hyper jumps, you CAN make them to another hyper point in the same system.

rebel droid programs are completely worthless unless u do alot of head on fighting. its not worth taking the time to load them.

capshunt, reactor, cap, engine and weapon overloads are a must.

Get a crafted mark IV shield, 16 to 18k mass. 1900 f/b. You can fit it without any changes.

The patrol takes you close to a spawn of agressors/oppressors. But you don't need to fly the patrol in a straight line, so keep an eye on your radar and keep your distance.

Droid programs will help, but you could try waiting until you past the mission. The v4 fc/astromech you get certed for there can hold the default setup.

Thank you all very, very much. I finally made it through the mission, and it was all thanks to capacitor shunt, capacitor overload, and the new shields. I was able to get cap shunt & cap overload at lvl 3, but I had to settle for level 2 on the other three due to droid datapad restrictions. It would have been easier on the wallet to wait, but I don't think I would have made it through without them. I was able to take the beating while travelling at a low speed, so the four TIEs 1.8km from the transport thankfully didn't join the fray. Ibought myself a very nice mark IV shield, as suggested, but I still had to lose the torpedo launcher due to reactor constraints. That's fine by me though, it wasn't much help previously anyway. Now to get a good night's sleep before tier 4 tomorrow. Well, later today I guess. Thanks again!

You were on the correct path by disabling ships...if you disable 2 waves(6 ships), they stop spawning until the last ship in the first wave you disabled selfdestructs. Then you'll get another wave coming in.

Most missions i've seen so far with endless waves stop spawning after you have disabled two waves.

Rather, disable one ship out of each wave. If you're handling them fast enough, it's worth destroying some for the XP. Also, consider getting a third gun, WO3 will help since it's bugged.

The mission is quit easy if you know how to handle. First you need a fast ship. My X-Wing has 1150 speed with booster and a 1800 Shield. First part of mission should be no problem. Second part., if you run in the heavy spawn of fighters just pull your mission object outside of the bulk with full speed. Mission object will follow, spawn enemies not. if you far enough start to fight and first take the reaktors out. rest is easy.
