Maybe a thread exists addressing this topic, but I am unable to find it.
Can some of the veteran pilots here make a list of useful macros in space? I have heard of throttle macros, but I have no idea where to start to make one. I am alos intrested in seeing what other macros some pilots use as well.

Yea, actually I would like to know if there is any macros to fire weapons or ordance as well.

Some basic macro's I use:
Throttle65:
/throttle 0.65;
Throttle40:
/throttle 0.40;
(Yes, I fly an Oppressor. Those 2 are a must have. It's not hard to tell from that how to set your throttle to the speed you want)
Follow: (always handy to have that just bound to a function key. makes my life easier)
/follow;
Mining:
/target (insert asteroid name here; ie. Petrochemical Asteroid);
/pause 0.1;
/target asteroid;
/pause 0.1;
/follow;
The above will first target the main asteroid, wait for 1/10th of a second, try to target an asteroid chunk, then engage follow. The reason it first tries the main asteroid is so that if there are no chunks, it will send you straight back at the main.
Now, if someone really begs, I'll post my little dissertation on weapon firing macro's
There are also a few other interesting commands:
/ui reticleselect (0-6) Changes to various reticle styles. I never use the default.
/ui radarselect (0-3) Wouldn't recommend trying the others unless you really know how to read a radar. I actually use 2, but that took forever to get used to.
And one I haven't seen mentioned in any post, but found on accident one day:
/ui reticledeadzone (x, y) Default is 250, 250. This sets the maximum pixels your mouse cursor can move when it is controlling your ship. While it actually doesn't effect how fast you can turn, you can get the mouse cursor to move even further, so it is easier to keep it on your target's lead indicator. *Note: this one will take a lot of getting used to for the vet's out there still using mice. It took me about 3 weeks of flying just to get used to 350, 350, but now I don't fly without it set there.

On the ground, many common actions have console line commands, but can not be bound by the keymap, so Macros are the best way to get them into Toolbar Panes or Hotkeys.
In space, many many common actions can be bound in the keymap, which makes Macros unnecessary. Also, there are quite a few common actions which seem to have no console line command and can therefore not be put in a Macro (Target Nearest Enemy Player, for example).
While Macros in space certainly have a place (as Nearro and others have shown), space tends to prompt fewer places where Macros are useful than other parts of the game system.

Strange you should mention this. I was going to post allof the macros I use in space next week after I made sure they were remotely useful

Exactly what I was thinking, but couldn't put it into those kinds of words. The only real "advantage" macroing in space has is the ability to do precise adjustments, such as with throttle. Being able to hit one button and know you are at 65% throttle instead of slowing down until you get close is good example. As are my other macro's that I posted. They aren't of any real advantage, other then speeding up common tasks.
The same holds true for weapon macros in space. The only advantage is getting a more precise control over your weapons.

I'm looking for a macro that will fire one ordance group then fire the rest of them shortly there after ie pause in between. would cut down on using multiple button bindings. Fire next ordance group works, but would be nice to have a 1 button fire and forget.

Head for the hills er...nebula!!!...the AFK ground grinders have discovered space!!!
Boy are they in for a shock.
Macros in space is ok.
Macros in space combat is a bad thing.
Macros means you do exactly the same thing every time you hit the macro.
Doing the same thing makes you predictable.
Predictable means running into a wall of light.
That wall of light means the station will be momentarily asking you if you want to fix your ship...

Not sure if its possible,..i *think* it might be, but i really dont know, but one macro i really want, is to be able to group and ungroup a specific weapon or ordinance at the push of a button.
For example, all my ships carry missles of some sort, and i usually have them ungrouped. The reason for this is because i dont normally use them save for specific reasons and the constant lockon is annoying as hell. So i only assign my missles a group just before i intend to us them.
In otherwords, i keep them disarmed, and only arm them just before use.
THAT i want a hotkey for

Yea, that would be a good one too. The only thing I can see someone being able to afk grind would be a very low lvl static spawn, and then you would really need a pretty developed bot anyways, and if you can make one of those you dont even need macros. I dont see any reason not to have some.

Here are some of my favourite macros.
/Throttle macro.
Turn hand clockwise,
pause 0.5
Turn hand anticlockwise.
/Fire Blaster macro.
Pull index finger back on trigger,
pause 0.5
Release trigger.
/Follow Enemy macro.
Open hand,
Pull arm right back,
Slap face of lazy gits who want macros in space,
repeat.

(Pull from yet another post from last year, disreguard everything like "tef". :-p maybe this will help alittle. ive updated the get away macro. maybe ill repost it sometime...
I pulled this from another post I did on another forum. Most are for space some... ONe if i remember is for land. Really I like to create macros for the situation so tell me what you want a macro to do and I will make one for you and post it here!
Ok, at long last I'm starting to release the macros I've made for myself so that way guildies might get some use out of them. So what I plan to do is release 1 a day till I get bored. :-P Here is todays macro. ( I call it byebye, it will get you out of trouble quickly!) I WILL update this when I hit teir 4 rebel droid programs!
Macro Name:Byebye This macro has been corrected or modified (1/14/05) This macro is updated below because it became ALOT larger!
/groupChat I'm out. I am going to XXXXX to get my ship repaired.;
/closeWings;
/throttle 1.00;

/*eshields;
/*vrepair;

/droid droidcommand_shieldadjustrearthree;
/droid droidcommand_shieldfronttobackeighty;
/pause 35;
/t (your name here) \#33ff00Last chance to /abortHyperspace!;
Please note that the * in the macro are functions that I don't at this time need, therefore I broke them not to work. You should do the same, so the macro is adjusted to how you like to play!
For Today I have a few macros that will either help in space or are just "fun". The first one is a macro to do a ship "warm up".
Macro Name: ShipStart
/*droid droidcommand_reactoroverloadone;
/*droid droidcommand_reactoroverloadtwo;

The next macro for today will be a macro designed to quick full repair your ship (while in mid flight or in mid fight!). All you have todo is be close enough to the space station (and be able to repair your ship at that station), and click this macro!

Ok on this one it is my AFK:Combat macro for when I want to kill lowbie things while I work, sleep or generally live my life! the parts in this macro CURRENTLY broken with the * is used for melee grinding, if grinding ranged don't unbreak those. just leave it like it is so you don't change weapons....
Ok lets see first on this macro know that i use my 4th toolbar as my weapon & clothing/armor toolbar the toolbar I'm talking about is /ui action toolbarPane03; I put the 2 weapons i want to change in and out too on the top F2 and the top F3 slots of Pane 4. Another way to say that is I put my weapons that I want to use in the /ui action toolbarSlot01; and /ui action toolbarSlot02; slots on /ui action toolbarPane03; ........ I find that using a cdef pistol thats been broken (by continous repairing of it) works great to grind melee, you put it in the top F3 slot and it shoots the (whatever your trying to grind), but it does 1 damage, so it does as little damage as possible as the creature is running over too you. Then it switches to either hand to hand, or a melee weapon of your choice, to do most of the rest of the damage This macro is designed to loot (whatever you want). If you have any questions about THIS MACRO, please let me know as its a very useful macro once you know HOW to use it.
