well, for one, you can create a macro for commands you need to use right away, such as cap to shield shunt, and map those to your joystick buttons (assuming you have a joystick with more than just a trigger button)
secondly, if you have to hit h to access keyboard hotkeys,it sounds like you're not using the default key config (or the classic one, whichever is one everyone still uses AFAICT) in which you have to hit alt to change from mouselook to free-mouse mode. Check in your options, you may have set some option about always in mouselook mode or something, I'm not sure exactly what could be amiss. I know when I'm using my joystick, though, I can activate my F-key hotkeys whether I'm in mouse look mode or not

I've just managed to get up to tier 1 Pilot. Gota new Starfighter with everything including FC and my 6 available droidcommands loaded and it works in space. I've loaded all space and astromech commands into the toolbar.
Now, my problem is: When i fly around using Joystick i cant usethe toolbox commands or issue commands just like that. First i have to hit "H" or another interface-opener; then i can activate a toolbar icon/command.
And when it is like that i cannot quickly(toolbar not visible)issue a droid command or whatever i have in the toolbar. I must be doing something wrong: ?? its not effective when in the midst of a fight:first hit "H" then select whatever command i like.
For escape i have made a macro copied from SWG Pilot forum: "getyaouttathere" : works fine (and brings me to Corelia system leaving a message to groupmembers to explain) as long as i first hit "H" and then the toolbar icon for the macro.

I must be doing something wrong or at least ineffective.
Any help much appreciated.
