Pilot Archive
Thread: I read the FAQ BUT.....
Conditions: I'm NOT aligned on the ground, and I plan to join either RSF or Smugglers alliance.
Questions:
1) Will I be able to help opposite aligned friends with their missions (examples: SA helping an RSF buddy or SA helping an IMP pilot or vise versa).
2) After becoming an ACE in either RSF or SA will I be able to attack ANY faction without restriction? ( I understand their are restrictions during the pilot skill progression )
3) In deep space ( keeping in mind im NOT aligned on the ground ) will I be able to chose a side if im either RSF or SA?
Thanks for the help!

Yes, most of the time. Once in a while you run into wierd faction targets - for example RSF can't shoot at RSF, SA at some levels can't hit Hutts. Pretty sure rebel/Imperial targets were always fair game.

Yes. If you enter and leave Deep Space however your ship will be faction-bugged, and you'll need to redeed it to return to true neutrality.

Uh...I think so? Someone else will have to tell you this.
Thanks for the help!

RSF Pilots will be unable to assist with many Rebel Pilot missions unless the RSF Pilot Declares Rebel in Space (which requires being a Rebel on the ground). SA will not have any problems.

SA, pretty much yes. RSF, no. RSF is Imperial aligned and that will not change just because you get to Ace - you will be unable to attack Imperial targets unless Declared Rebel in Space.

Yes.
RSF creates problems if you are trying to play both sides. SA and CorSec do not have those problems.

One quick note on the faction bug from DS.. this only affects factional ships in Kessel, and not anywhere else.
Now I'm not sure what happens if you go into DS once and go reb, then go back and try Imp... probably something like crossing the streams when capturing a ghost
