Thread: Storm Squadron Questions

Hi. I love space, but I hate to grind. I'm currently 2211 SS. When I was 2111 SS, I went with an Ace pilot in his turret to Kessel, and there I banked enough XP to go 2222 (now it's just a matter of doing the missions.) My question is, when I'm 3222, is it a good idea to do what I did at 2111, or is Tier 3 just boxes via mission unlock and not XP?

Thanks!

Tier 3 is missions only, so you won't need to grind XP for that.

For tier 2, or tier 4.. Don't think of it as grinding. Just go out and kill stuff, and practice your piloting skills.

If you grind through tier 2 in the turret of someone elses ship in Kessel, you're going to have a rough time of it trying to get through some of those Tier 3 storm squadron missions.

Get a flight computer, program it with some commands from ready chips, and spend your time during tier 2 taking on tier 3 and 4 static spawns for practice. You'll have the xp in no time, and be in better shape to handle all those waves of A-wings coming your way shortly, in tier 3.

Hehe. Well, the duty missions are annoying. "Go to this waypoint. Kill a few waves of extremely easy enemies. Get a tiny bit of XP. Go to next waypoint. Repeat. Oh, here's a captain! Don't worry, he's extremely easy also. Do this until you go insane."

Good to know the Tier 3 boxes are quest only.

Well, now you can look forward to Tier 3 MISSIONS! You'll wish for Tier 2 ... the first one is 2-3 escorts (3, I think) and some other stuff.

Get a Heavy Tie Fighter, and go for 2/3/2/2 first.

For exp, group with a m8 (ideally an Ace or high up pilot) and head of to Kessel. Ask your m8 to disable stuff and you can just finish them off

You'll most likely want to do this when you're on the 4th tier boxes. And yeah go for the Equipment usage boxes first and get a capacitor to shields ready chip and ideally a capacitor overcharge one too.

Yes the first few waves of a destroy mission areeasy, but they do tend to ramp up a bit the longer you stick with them.

Once I got to tier IV, I used a JSF and the second weapon makes xp flow like a river (sorry to the purists out there! I suppose a TIE Advanced would do also). It was no problem to complete a tier IV box between the xp of the initial "unlock" mission and an hour or so of a duty mission. And as was stated above it's good practice for tuning your skills.
