damn, logging logs every chat tab, does anyone know a good way to parse certain lines right out of a text file? basically this is what i would want to end up with:

Only problem is I had to paste my log into excel, sort by [None] then select all the rows with booster/droid/hyperspace spam and delete those out. There's gotta be an easier way even if it's just logging one chat tab....

I think loot frequency..especially in Deepspace might depend on how many ships you kill of the same mob. I mean, say in a flight of Two Decimators and TIEs, if you killed a sample of them..then moved on, I doubt the loot would as frequent as if you killed the whole of each mob. Or it might be more frequent. Hmm..
All I find is, if you get a good pve power ship, you can kill enough npcs per minute to obtain a loot per minute (or a little longer than a minute).
that's an interesting theory, easily tested on the chiss spawns. instead of taking out both the fighters and the aces, just take out one or the other (easy to do as a rebel or neutral, as they are yellow). i tried that once, and seemed to get less loot, but i didn't log it so it was entirely annecdotal.
one thing that would throw a wrench in this log is if decimator/gunboats/etc have a higher chance to drop loot. still, you aren't going to go around just nuking decimators/gunboats anyway, not unless you have that titanic four 5k gun b-wing we all dream of.
here's a log from the same session except grouped. i changed the names of my toon and the group member, mostly because the name of that old toon was pretty inappropriate.
104 kills, 16 loots. that's around 6 kills per loot. sample size is smaller, or is it? not sure how that works exactly. it would seem to indicate you get less loot while grouped, but the only stats class i ever took i got a D in. so there you go.

the problem with logging multiple blocks of time and averaging them all in is in the original post i said i just wanted to see if there was difference between times of day/days, with the hope of maybe finding out something about why the times change.
i was actually hoping i'd find it be unchanging by zone... but looting 1 per 3 kills kinda blew that out of the water.
i think novas are lucky too. when i see them i go "mmmm novas"
my only 43k mass level 10 came from a nova.
If you want lvl 10 engines, try that T5 Duty mission from the CPG YT.
I looted a 39k mass, 95 speed Kuat elite off that mission o.o. I was like "wow...The Gods of Starsider like me"
