Has anyone else noted this? When in a Nebula it is very hard for me to handle my ship smoothly. Is this something the devs wrote into the program?

Yes its lag. In kessel there is a IMP gunboat that flys in circles right in middle of a nebula cloud. I tryed to take it out once. I flew up to it and started shooting, keeping an eye on on my shields so i could pull out and recharge when needed. I fired at it for like 20 seconds and dident take one shot to my shields. all of a sudden my computer cought up with the server and I exploded. Went from no damage at all to dead in a split second. There needs to be a way to turn of the nebula lightning.

It's not lag. It's framerate drop. When will people understand lag = latency = ping :/

it is framerate drop...I have to admit I misuse the term 'lag' too often but they really are two different things. Kind of important to get the terminoligy right or you won't easily figure out how to deal with the problem. Lag issues are usually eitherovertaxed servers or internet problems. Framerate is often client side.

I get the horrible framerate in nebulae as well. I turn nebulae renderingdown in the options menu just to avoid the problem.

There's some graphics option for this. Don't remember what it's called, but it refrences nebulas. I turned it down a bit and noticed a big difference.

Yep, turn down "Nebula density" in graphics and it shouldn't be so bad.

And video lag is a perfectly valid term.
