I just started playing a couple days ago. I found out how easy it is to become an imperial pilot but i wanted to try some of the others too. The problem is i have no idea who or where i go to start training as a rebel or private pilot.

Can anyone give me some pointers on what to do to become a private pilot or rebel? Thanks

By the way this game is really great but I know I have so much to get use to with it.

Its covered somewhat in the FAQ's. Bu tthey also assume some SWG knowldege. The recruiter locations are covered there as well in addition to what is needed to switch sides

Why not drop Imp Pilot? Is it the best one to be in the game (more fun)?

Yeah. If you have started a pilot tree, don't drop and re-start it. (Unless it's to correct yourerror of being an Imp pilot.

The forums have lots of info on pilots. Stick at :-

and

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=pilot&message.id=45277

But as you may hate going through posts- basic info on starting squadrons below. (From one sticky post).

There are 3 choices for Pilot factions and each faction has 3 different Squadrons you can join:

  1. Rebel: Recruiter Location: J'pai Brek (-5072, -2343) Tyrena, Corellia
----- Akron's Havok Squad: Captain Kreezo, Tyrena, Corellia (-5177, -2281)
----- Vortex Squadron: V3-FX {droid} (right across the bridge) Moenia, Naboo
----- Crimson Phoenix Squadron: Commander Da'la Socuna (back room of the cantina) Mos Espa Tatooine

  2. Imperial: Recruiter Location: Commander Landau (-5516,4403) Theed, Naboo
----- Inquisition: Lt. Barn Sinkko, Kadaara, Naboo
----- Storm Squadron: Lt. Akal Colzet, Bestine, Tatooine
----- Black Epsilon: Hakasha Sireen, Imp Outpost, Talus

  3. Freelancer: Recruiter Location: Gil Burtin (-1174, -3647) Bestine, Tatooine
----- Smuggler Alliance: Dravis, Mos Eisley, Tatooine, Back room of cantina (3429,-4788) REBEL aligned
----- RSF Squadron: Captain Dinge, Theed Naboo (-5497,4575)
    IMPERIAL aligned
----- Corsec Squadron: Sergeant Rhea, Coronet Corellia (-275,4730) Neutral

Note:

If there is no waypoint for the trainer, you can do a /find and select trainer and then choose the appropriate faction.

Forgot to add this above.

As gather you thought the impy path was too easy. If you are thinking of resigning from the Galactic Imperial Navy options are:-

Alliance

TheVortex Squadron is the hardest squadron, so it would offer the mostchallenge i suppose.

Freelancer

Not sure about the difficulty level. TheCor Sec squadron allows you the choice of the final target for master pilot being the Rebel Corvette or the Imperial Destroyer. The other two are factionally allied- so you have the same target as what ever your allied factions have.

PS: What Imperial Squadron are you in? Anyone know which is the hardest one?

Aatyas - Vortex Squadron.

Satyas - Smuggler Alliance.

The point we're making is, that you can't be more than one kind of pilot at a time, and you begin again from ground zero each time, unless you go all the way to Ace (an Ace gets and experience bonus on future masteries). If you don't care about losing the work you've done so far, go ahead and switch. Just make sure to strip any parts you've added out of your Imperial ship before you drop the skills. You can use them later, but you cannot access the ship after you drop the skills.

Yep. You have to finish one Squadron /Master Pilot before, you get the Pilot Bonus for Ace.

You then have to resign and loose all the XP and sign up againfrom scratch at a squadron and go up the boxes.

You get an 1x per Faction's pilot mastery (so when you finish your first you'll get 1x, which is double, when you master pilot from a different faction that will bump up to 2x, so triple, and when you master pilot from the final faction you will bump up to 3x, so quadruple), this makes it easier to master further branches.

So if i not mistaken one gets capped at 4x for Pilot XP after doing the three faction Master Pilots. The XP is given foreachpilot profession onemasters- Rebel, Imperial, Freelencer -not for each squadron.

So if for example you master Alliance Vortex and then Alliance Crimson Phoenix, you still only get 2x xp.Its only after you master a Freelancer andImperial squadron, then the bonus goes up to a max capof 4 times the xp if you master all three pilots.

Since we are on the subject of Pilot. I asked this in another post- but no reply so far.

Where does the Squadron name appear on the character? I don't see it on my two characters that are doing Vortex and Smuggler's Alliance, so figure it appears at Master.

Does anyone that hasMaster Flight Jock know, where does it appear? Does it stay after you dump skills to try another Pilot profession?

Can anyone enlighten me?

Aatyas - Tier 3: Vortex

Satyas - Tier 3: Smuggler's Alliance

Thanks a bunch for the help but i have one more question.

I dont know much of anything about ships. Now i can figure out the easy stuff on ships and how to equip it, but there are some things i dont know about or how it helps me have a better ship. Such as a capacitor, what does it do for me? Is there a webpage or thread that goes over in detail about ships and parts?

Hi

I dont have a link im sorry but i can tell you what i have learnt.

reactor gives the total energy to the whole ship.

capasitator takes energy from the reactor and gives it to your gun/guns, go for hig regcharge rate and about 1xxx+ in energy you can get some god ones that are from lvl1-3 witch will cover your needs, recomended is that you use droidprograms to capasitaor

droid interface is you conection point to you flightcomputer or you flight droid(think only rebels use a droid) go for a low speed and low mass on this can bbe lvl 1 just.

Flightcomputer/droid is were you programs vil be programd in to. the lvl of the FC /FD give you the amount it can store progarms. Programs increasse in size to lvl of program like a lvl1 is size 5, lvl2 is 10 lvl3 is 20 lvl4 is 25

Wepons comes in lots of waraity som are strong agains shields and weak aginst armor. some are weak aginst shields strong against armor, and some are almost equall agaist both. some have wery good speed and low energy use pr shoot others dont same with all stats.

that covers the wery basic if i find any post with this info ill post it here for you to find.

Hope it helps a bit
