It would be nice if people that had aced several pilot classes could fly ships from all the skill trees they previously had. Say somebody that had been a Rebel, then went Privateer, once they made Ace Privateer could fly the rebel ships they used to be able to. I'd like to be able to use an A-Wing or X-Wing as my fighter, and a YT-1300 as my MP ship.

I'd like to see this possible for MP Ships. (Or mabye just the YT1300) I have a freelancer pilot who I don't use much cause I prefer the imperial ships but I worked so friggin hard to get my YT1300 I don't want to drop the freelancer pilot tree. I really never use the ship but the though of having the climb the freelancer tree later if I want to use it again makes me just stick with freelancer.

As for fighters I don't think that is a good idea. It wouldn't matter what faction you were with after you mastered one ace in each faction, you would have access to all the ships. That may sound fun but I think what we'd end up seeing is everyone flying the same ships.

and having rebels in tie ships fighting the imps in their rebel ships. Just wouldn't seem right.

Sounds good to me!

It would be cool to able fly imp ships for master rebel missions and the same for Imperials

Like "Take an Interceptor to this Imperial station take shields and many fights of ties, before the Gunship comes in for back up"

Rogue Squadron did this Why can't we

Or possibly if you ace a Rebel and then Imperial and finish with Neutral then you could fly all the ships becuase you are not with a certain faction.

Just some thoughts

iflimited it to:

who can fly

------ --------

Rebels: rebel / neutral

Neutral any

Imp Neutral / Imp

that wouldn't be too bad of couse as long as one mastered the appropraite pilot tree as well.

In keeping with the Star Wars feel, I might suggest this modification to oracomm2's idea:

The Empire would certainly no tollerate having thier pilots fly rebel ships NOR freelance ships. They should be limited to the TIE variants only.

If the rebels got hold of Imperial ships, they would most likely use them for reconnaissance and infiltration missions (ROTJ anyone?) and since parts for the TIE's would not likely be available to the rebels anyway, they would not be flying them into battle. Freelance ships, such as the Minellium Falcon, are ok. So Rebels should be ok to fly both Rebel and Freelance ships, with the proper certification.

Freelance should have access to the same ships as the rebels. Obviously since the supplier of the rebel ships are willing to sell to "terrorists", then they would have no qualms to supply ships to anyone who's willing to throw thier money on the table. (Many of the NPC ships are A-wing and X-wings already!)

Since this would leave the Imperials with a smaller selections of flyable ships, they should be offered extra ships such as the Imperial Shuttle, TIE Deffender, and Phantom TIE.

I don't know how well some of the TIE variants fit in the timeline of the game, but hell, we got more Jedi than you can shake a stick at already! Let's just get some more ships!

I thought about this before. But I felt that just because you ace multiple times, it shouldn't automatically let you have all of another class's ships.
You should be able to have one (or two) ships from your previous faction, up to tier 4. So you couldn't have the ace ships (the ace ships I felt should be a reward for those who are an ace of that faction). So, in other words, if you aced privateer and took up Alliance, you'd be able to use one ship from that class (privateer), any ship up to tier 4. If you wanted another, you'd have to redeed the first privateer ship andthen you could take another. You couldn't use the ace-level ships of the other faction which you dropped.
Of course, some cross-faction aces wouldn't work. For example, you wouldn't be able to ace Alliance and go Imperial, then expect to use the X-Wing as an Imperial fighter. Nor vice-versa.
