Thread: cant target ship components

Is this a bug or something, i know you target components by using [ ] but it dont work, or have i missed some importent part here.
I have reset my keymap to the original swg settings but still nothing.
I have also read true the holocron but didnt find out more then i already know.
This kind of spoils the fun a littlebit, since i cant shoot down anything, and they cant shoot down me eather, so its a 30 minute dogfight against newbiestuff until i give up
Any clues from you out there what i am doing wrong would be very nice.

1) target a ship
2) look at the box in the upper right
3) press ] or [
4) system names and % should appear in yellow
post again and tell us what precisely isnt happening for you. Also helpful would be what group your flying for, and what you're trying to shoot.

Also keep in mind that apparently (I'm knew too! 
not all ships have the same targetable components. I've seen that most starfighters (NPC starfighters that is, I haven't gone deep space yet) only have the reactor or engines available to be shot at. I found some Y-wings also let you shoot at weapons. Mostly I just target the reactor though. Killing that means no power. No power means they just sit there doing nothing. I used to target engines, but one day I swear I got shot by a ship I'd disabled (wandered into its firing arc). I could be wrong on that though, as I said I'm new (only played JTL for 3 days, I'm learning alot).
Anyway, the bigger ships definitely seem to have more components to target.

Well i figured out why i couldnt target components, i looked true my keymap,and the key i should use was named tødler (ø is a scandinavian letter if you are curius) but a friend of mine that is an ace said he had to use ^ instead of ][ and that worked out.
The next problem was worse do, this looks like a bug to me, i took a simple mission, all newbie stuff so it shouldnt be to hard to kill. But i found out that my blasters cant even scratch there armor, missiles work nice but not my main weapon, i asked my acefriend to group with me and watch when i was fighting, just to be sure that i didnt do anything wrong. So i left soe a bugreport and a note.
Havent heard from them yet but i hope they have some ideas how to fix it.

Ops forgot to say, i am in stormsquadron in bestine, the npc i am fighting are comercial raiders.
Dont remember the name on there ships do, but i beleave it is the startingship to the rebels.

It was a bug and now it is fixed.

you won't hear back from them...they don't respond to /bug reports..only custumer service tickets.

tickets go to CSR who answer
