Thread: JOYSTICK WENT AWOL HELP!!!

So I had been up in space for a bit (in a yt-1300) and was ready to land, so I hyperspace to corellia. As soon as I came out of hyperspace my ship was pulling to the right and I couldn't stop it. I messed with all the in game settings (sensitivity and center) and even rebinded the controls. None of that helped. Finally, I completely rebooted my computer and then logged back in. This seemed to correct the problem.
So, I decided to give it another shot, this time in my starfighter. Was up in space for a bit with everything working fine, hyperspaced somewhere, and boom!! right back to the whacky controls.
Now, as soon as I launch into space, my ship spins uncontrollably, and none of the controls do what they are supposed to.
Has anyone else run into this? I checked the control panel for the joystick and all the controls responded correctly in the test mode, which leads me to believe it is something in game that is causing the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am losing valuable flight time! Thanks!!

Helps if you post what you're using, but make sure it's dead center and level when you hyper. Also, if it's a USB stick often unplug, count two, plug in, might reset it and clear you up.

The joystick is a Logitech Dual Action. I bought it at Target for $19.99. However, I don't think it's the joystick since it works fine out of game. And as far as being centered when I hyperspace, I can't even get to the point that I can hyperspace now. I'm already spinning as soon as I load into space...

did you try running your joystick calibration in windows?
Also, is it an analog joystick? For 19.99 it might be 
if there are two little wheels oriented at 90 degrees at the base of the joystick somewhere (might be on the sides or bottom of the base), make sure those are centered....those are calibration wheels for analog joysticks, and if one got knocked all the way to one side, that'd make your stick spin every time it switched to joystick input
