Sooo I was shooting things watching my almostpointless prestige points accumalate and I got to thinking we should be able to do more with them besides go into deep space. Soo heres my thoughts, feel free to chime in, flame, what ever floats your boat.

Possible Uses for Prestige Points:

Buy certifications for ships outside of your Pilot Alignment.

You're allready an Ace and these certifications could start out at a couple mil and be restricted to certain ships like Y-wings,Z-95's, Tie Fighters, Tie Bombers, Dunelizard, Kimo-gila, and for an exhorbantamount points and beccause they are not specifically faction ships(cannon wise), the Decimator, the Nova Cruiser, and the YT-1000. There can be all sorts of explinations, for privateers, you have "sticky" fingures and aquired one, for Imps and Rebs, they were gotten during a skirmish and turned against their original owners, or are used for covert missions, whatever.

Buy special paint jobs.

Um... sort of explains itself.

New zones

Non-planet zones, nothing special, that would require an expenditure of prestige points to access. Zones with set lanes of high level ships moving through the sectors, various merchant/military convoys, with escorts, similar to the way the corvet opperates. Better chance of loot. NPC raidng parties intermitently attacking, or in the path of the convoys, and set to where they agro other npcs. Several small zones would help give the feel of a more elaborate space systems.

Missions

For a certain amount of prestige points, NPCs at various stations will "tip" you off to merchant/military convoys that yield high quality loot and or special paint job schematics.

Special Clothing

Color variations on the clothing allready attainable at master level. Or schematics that tailors can make so crafters are still in the loop. These would have to be expensive point wise to discourage thier trade and sale.

Anyways thats it for now. This is really Blue Sky stuff but, eh what ever.

This is a great idea and fits with another person's post about having the ability to pilot other ships than just your one faction.
