i know you love your ships manuverability, and speed, however unless you want to pay for someone elses deed i suggest that you either dont go overt or PAY ATTENTION. ive heard on these boards that people think the ship is invincible, however i dont see it. i just shot down someone flying their jsf in kassyyyke(or however you spell it) space this was at least my 5th pvp kill of one of the new ep3 fighters and quite frankley im not impressed.

edit: and forcomparison i was in a standard xwing at the time.

edit 2: to answer some of the questions. i only use lasers, never liked missles. two of the JSF pilots i shot down were aware i was after them, 1 was not. the pilot of the ARC knew i was after him. but i jumped the pilot of the grevous fighter(though if your overt and you get jumped its your own fault).

Couple ofQuestions.... did you use missles on them? Yes missles are a viable tactic. But if you shot down 5 with lasers then i'd say impressive. Also were they "aware" of you flying up to them? If not then i don't hold much to you're argument. But i'll wait till you respond to judge you're kills.

But how is it you can't see how unbalanced this ship is? 95k mass, smaller then an awing, missle port, 2 hardpoints.... doesn't add up... same can be said of other ROTW ships being unbalanced.

Hmmmmm.....

>>dont go overt or PAY ATTENTION

Note emphasis on "pay attention".

>>>and quite frankley im not impressed.

I wouldnt be either if they weren't paying attention.

Yup, have to say I have killed loads of JSF pilots in the past week and a half.

Unfortunately they were all rubbish pilots that probably didnt realise what 1 IR2 (or in one case a mark 4 proton - that was funny) can do.

I havent in the past 1.5 weeks seen any regular PvPer in a JSF on my server!

They are all people who previously stayed out of DS because they fell into 1 or more of the following categories

1. they died really quick in PvP and gave up.

2. they think the other side had uber ships because the died really quickly and therefore they gave PvP up.

3. they cant compare stats of ships and so they think the other side has uber ships and so they die really quick in PvP and give it up.

4. They didnt even have a clue how to get in to DS.

They had absolutely no PvP ability at all - and their ships obviously had sub-par components (i.e 2 massive guns when in PvP 2 lighter faster guns are generally better!). Killing them was easier than popping into space around Tatooine and killing the tier1 or 2s there.

However in the hands of a good pilot there is only one way to take on a JSF. Sneak up missile him, run like hell and hope you have a faster engine if you dont get a good reactor hit to short out his programs!

One other distinction. When i killed the JSFs I sent them a tell along the lines of "Good fight", "I got you!", "for Alderaan!" etc. Only to get back NOTHING but abusive leet-speak gibberish sprinkled with as much swearing as they think is Uber. Still, not one of them has "pwned" me yet!

Never got that abuse from the old Imp aces on my server. They made Baron Soontir Fel look like a nerf-herder. /bow Totuss.

No one "sneaks up" on me. Whenever I'm overt (which is 95% of the time), I'm checking my perimeter every 30 seconds, and I know what to listen for when someone's examining/targetting me. Come to Eclipse - I'll learn ya some manners.

Yup, I do that to (and reconfigure the radar to longer range when im overt outside DS, forewarned is forearmed after all), but, the JSFs dont as they dont really know how to PvP (95% of them).

You can spot the real imp aces onmy server. They are the guys on my server who tool around in their advanced, opps, and ints and laugh with the rest of us at the the guys that think a flying unbalancedgrief machine makes up for not learning how to fight another player (totally different to plinking NPCs, except for the majority of JSF flyers though :smileyvery-happy.

And wait until i fix my spelling before you quote me dammit!

I transferred from a 66,025 mass Advanced to fly the Eta-2. I'm enjoying 2P/1M on a fighter chassis - I haven't PvPed in it yet because I'm running quests and helping guildies run theirs - but all this talk of missiles made me buy a Mk4 Proton and Mk2 ImRec launcher for the glut of pilots who might be flying in overt Wolfpacks.

I've been proven to hold my own in a 3v1 engagement with guns alone, but anything more than that and I'm pretty well screwed (as would pretty much anyone).

If your a good pilot in one of the new ships against enemies in the preROTW ships you should be able to fight and destroy10 of them with out a scratch - I have!

i'm lost as to what's the big deal here. i almost wish they'd give people a droid fighter to end the arguement.1 out of 2 vs the JSF today, in an oppressor. *Shrug* you just gotta aim at the thing. if it's such a huge deal go get one of your own, or use the heavy z-95, hitbox is slightly bigger but so what? i envy you if you constantly come up against these ships, at least you have something tough to fight against.

I think the JSF needs to lose the ordnance slot.

And I personally would like to have a million dollars, but that seems pretty unlikely too.

You can spot the real Rebel aces on my server easily too: they're the ones out there killing experianced JSF pilots as opposed to spending their time whining for a nerf on the forums.
