I know th elower the number the better. This being said, does the speed of the droid only effect how fast you can start up programs? It seems that once you start a programrunning,it stays runninguntil you land. If I start my programs when I take off, then can I use a lower level computer to save mass?
I don't have a good understanding of the computers and programs yet. I did read that you can use reactor overload to use a smaller reactor to save mass as well. I currently use (please excuse me if my terminology is off and I do not remember what level the programs are) engine overload, capacitor overload, shield stunt, and weapons overeload. Can I only use certain programs on certain level computers?
Basically what I am needing is a complete rundown on thedroid interfaec and flight computers lol.
Thankyou for all previous help today on my numerous topics and thank you in advance for your help here.

Overloads are a 'switch on' thing, so yes, you can use a light mass, slow speed one for that. (Personally I use a 499 mass, 15.3 speed one
)
But with Capacitator to Shield Shunt, you'll be wanting a faster one.

Droid interface speed effects the amount of time you have to wait before running another program. Not a big difference between sitting there running programs for 1 minute or 2 minutes. When you're hearing "plink plink plink" against your armor and you're begging your droid to hurry the !@%@#$ up so you can run cap to shield shunt, you'll wish you had a faster one.
Comb the bazaar and global vendor search for droid interfaces. Sometimes you get lucky and find a pre-nerf level 1-3. I use 3 droid interfaces on my ship, a L1 with 15.0 spd, a L1 with 15.8 spd, and a L3 with 17 spd.
To give you a rough estimate for crafted DIs, good ones will look like this:
Mark I spd 25 mass 430
Mark II spd 20 mass 1075
Mark III spd 17.8 mass 2700
Mark IV spd 14.7 mass 6700
Mark V spd 11.5 mass 16750
Note, these were calculated from my spreadsheet based on 25% base assembly and 90% speed experimentations. Actual results will vary depending on resources used.
