Anywho, it is the mission where you have to escort the engineers through Endor, then recapture the freighter, then kill the rebel scout, then escort ANOTHER freighter, and probably 5 other parts after that.
I have been trying to beat this one for several days, and can't. Usually at this point I begin to suspect there is some sort of trick to the mission, and hopefully one of you all know what it is. I have played it and failed about 8 times, and have maxed my pilot XP out at 200k, so I am anxious to get this one completed and get moving up the tree again.
I have figured out how to scrape off fighters that are attcking me and get them to attck the freighters so I can recharge my shields and attack them, but I am on tier 2, and fighting tier 4 enemies, so it doesn't take much to take me down. Seems the game loves to spawn tier 4 pirates and even Rogue squad A-wings where I am supposed to meet frieghters, and I cant fend them all off.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, guess there is no trick other than the old "cross the fingers" and "may the Force be ya". What really hurts is the time it takes to do this mission. With my college classes, I can only get 1 shot at it a day. I guess I should just be happy with the fact that this one mission is going to make me a millionaire AND a colonel.

You could try posting some of your ships stats, that might help us determine what problems you might be having. I know you'll want to have a fast manuverable engine for this mission to help take out the a-wings, and a good weapon and capacitor go a long way to helping take down all the higher level ships (which require alot of hits to take down).
You might also mention which part of the mission is giving you the most trouble, I'm guessing it's the 3rd or 4th part where you have to dock with the frieghter and it always ends up right by a tier 4 pirate spawn. For this part it's important to dock with the frieghter first, which will reduce the amount of time you're there fighting pirates. This mission can be solo'd, and you don't need any uber parts for your ship (although you don't want junk either
), it just requires a little strategy and ALOT of patience.
Good luck!!!

Ok, here goes on the ship stats. Don't laugh. While none of the components are really great, I haven't had trouble with anything up to this point, even when grinding lvl 3s around Yavin IV.
Basics: TIE/LN I have 35k mass of 39k used so far.
Engine: pitch 62.6
yaw 57.9
roll 63.3
speed 61.3
Don't think this is a problem. While the tier three and fours can turn circles around me, I still have no problem bringing my guns up and scoring hits (even against the A-wings). Sure they are faster, but I am (slightly) better.
Shield: front/back 821.5
rechage rate 6.53
Don't think this is an issue either. I am usually fine with shielding, till the point right where I get KIAed. Usually then it is a matter of seconds before the shields and armor are gone. Once I had full shields, and I guess a whole squad a A wings fired at once, b/c the next thing I knew I was toast (didn't even get an eject warning). On the defense note, I haven't loaded countermeasures b/c I only get 3-5 launches against me during a mission, and I am usually able to avoid 3-4 of them.
Capacitor: energy 810/1053
recharge 30.6
Haven't had too much of an issue of running out of energy. Sure it happens, but that is on the third ship in a row. I can fire constantly for a pretty long time and not worry about running out of juice.
Reactor: energy 10860
In case that has any bearing on things
Weapon: damage 913.5-1286.9
vs shield .63
vs armor .62
rate .420
energy/shot 28.0
I think this is the main weakness. Sure we all want to do more damage, but I think this is where I stuggle. I just can't get through the shields and armor in a timely fashion. If I could, I would easily lay waste to everything in the system. Yesterday I went on a little trip across Naboo looking for a new weapon, but it doesn't seem like there is a big market for starship parts. That leaves me with casting voodoo magic spells and hoping that I loot a better lvl 5 weapon during The Mission.

It's teir 3 Mission one and it's a bear. I had to get help to complete it. That's what I suggest casue it only get's harder. get some friend together and go at it. If you can get a Ace pilot it helps. Mission 2isn't much better. I have yet to solo it. My hat is off to nay that do.

Yeah, I am begining (well, continuing) to see it. At least now I know that my problems don't all stem from the fact that I am totally inept.

Boy, this mission was an eye opener compared to the other missions we had previously. I've attempted this mission 3 times now. Once by myself and twice with a friend. I've managed to make it to the last part each time but the massive waves of fighters quickly gun for me and take me out. Hopefully my ace pilot friend will be able to lend me a hand to finish these couple of quests up.
Good luck to all Storm Squadron and other Imperial squads.

Just keep trying, that's what I did. I remember the first time I solo'd this mission and completed it, I was sweating like crazy and took a break for the rest of the night, but it can be done!!!! Hehe.
