THis may sounds completely trivial to most of you, but I am personally at a complete loss and definately at the end of my rope. It's the 4th quest in a 4 part Iniate pilot series ofquest. Here I go, blasting my way through these first 3 enjoying myself and geting the feel of "flight". Until I must take on a pirate boss. Yea, right. My ideas of ease were shattered violently.

Heshows up in an A-Wing, flying circles around me, but I only wish that his superior mobility was my greatest annoyance. I cant seem to hurt him!

We fly around eachother for 15 minutes (approx.). I do all the damage I possibly can , but eventually he just darts away. Literally, he just ...... disappears. I'm still left with a way point to the mission, but the mission objective is no whereto be found. When I return the flight trainer simply gives me thesame quest .... again.

I've repeated the mission 4 times with no improvement.

Either A) there is a bug and I might aswell ditch the project . or B) there's something that will help me that I haven't learned yet.

So, thats my situtation. Is there anyone who knows something I don't.

Use the [ and ] keys to target his engine or reactor. When in a pinch with highly manueverable opponents, you'll use this still long after you master.

Other general flying tips can be found in the faq and pilot's guides, but one specific thing when flying the newb ship against anything fast, slow to best turning speed and start your turn as he is approaching you head-on, as he passes, hit the pageup key to max accel, boost too for a sec maybe and you should be able to hang with him long enough to take out the engine or reactor in one pass or two or three.
