I just got JTLS yesterday. I know sqaudron choices have different difficulty levels. I didn't know this at first and signed up for what I see now is the easiest rebel squadron. Could someone tell me what the results of doing so are? Does joining a higher difficulty squadron yield more xp, more money?
Another question: I did some missions for my contact and now all he gives me is standard missions, you know, the ones where you just kill kill kill until you get tired of it (sorry I don't remember what they're called at this time). Should I be moving on to another NPC? He didn't tell me that I should go to someone else, but I also don't want to be doing 200xp per kill flying my whole life.
Thanks.

Im not really sure if squadrons have different difficulties, never looked when i picked mine
But i can answer your question about the boring missions. Those are called duty missions. If you press ctrl-s you will see your skills, look at your pilot profession and click one of the skills that has a bar next to it. If the bar is green you have enough experience to get a new skill, ask your trainer for training, not duty missions and learn a new skill, then you usually get a mission. The point of a duty mission is for you to gain experience until you have enough to get a new skill, then you move on to the next mission oryour next trainer. Just dont stop doing a duty mission until you can get a new skill or you simply cant continue because it gets too hard. Once you have enough experience, no more duty for now, or maybe you do have more duty as i observed on my brothers imperial pilot. Just be patient and you will get to master eventually.

I have some more questions that I would really appreciate if someone could answer. I just started playing JTL two days agoand got my pilotto 1111 by doing some missions for a droid in Moenia.
1) Is duty missions the only way to get any xp between the "level" missions now? The whole first tier was real fun with different kinds of missions and then a nice end mission. I want that kind of progression not just "Go kill things in space for 6h and then come back". It gets kinda boring and repetative real fast.
2) Im doing duty missions right now from a guy in the Mos Espa cantina and im getting 100-300xp per kill and its slooooow. Can I go somewhere else and get duty missions for some tougher mobs cause the tier 1 and 2 mobsim meeting now aretoo easy to kill.
Thanks for any help, much appreciated.

The difficulty of different squads has no benefits other than saying "I did that"
This is a lot more infor than you asked for, but it will show you the big picture.
Duty missions are not a necessity for gaining xps, but they are a handy, steady source of foes that you should be capable of handling at your level, plus cash payouts (plus faction points if you're a factioned pilot, the foes are the opposite side, and you choose to go overt while doing the mission).
The progression is like so:
In tier1 you do 4 Intro missions before you're allowed to train. After that, 1 box is given to you free, and you must earn xps for the other 3. You can do that however you choose. When you have trained all 4 boxes, your trainer will break from the Duty mission spiel and send you on your way to tier2.
Tier2 is Storyline mission+xp for each box. Complete the mission, then get the xps either from his Duty, or on your own, and train when eligible. Once you complete all 4 boxes of tier2, you are sent on to tier3.
Tier3 is Storyline missions only! no xps needed. Your xps are counted and saved (your cap is 1 million) for use in earning your first tier4 box.
Tier4 is like tier2, but here is where the Duty missions are more important. You can camp a spawn, or go to a place like Kessel, but in my personal experience, taking a Destroy Duty is the best. There is no downtime hunting for foes, and the cash rewards add up. I've found that in most squads, doing your story mission and completing a Destroy duty will get you nearly enough xps for your box, so while the 1million seems daunting, you can get it in one play session pretty easily.
Master missions No xps needed for the master box. complete the missions get the box.
While duty mission may seem boring, I find it far more boring camping a spawn, or cruising looking for things to shoot, plus no one can steal your Duty kills.

FWIW, not true on the Imperial side. Imps have two distinct difficulty levels: Storm Squadron and Everything Else. Typical Storm missions are 90 minutes in length (some are longer). It's also the only squad I'm aware of in the game that forces you to face NPCs that are a tier higher than you on almost every mission.

Is there a bloody squadron out there that doesn't have bugged missions that impede progress such as Corsec's teir 2 mission and smugglers alliance tier 3 mission? I just find it ridiculous that we're supposed to quest for advancement but can't do so because of all the redundant bugs this game has suffered from since day god damn 1.

I understand you're venting, but which bugs? I've run through RSF, CorSec, and SA, and the only bug that I can remember was during one battle where my "allies" didn't agro on the enemy.
If you could be more specific, we could offer some guidance.

the one i'm on right now is the bugged shipment orders quest you get from the tier 2 corsec trainer. They send you to lok to find a nym cannon ship, inspect it, dock with it, and recieve the orders. I've probably done the sequence 30 times by now. I've gone to the waypoint everytime only to find there are no cannon ships anywhere near it. When i do find a cannon ship 4-5k meter away i inspect, it tells me it has what i'm looking for, i disable it (like it says) inspect again and then dock. It tells me shipment orders recieved but i never get a mission complete and the shipment orders don't show up in my inventory or datapad. And with that the trainer just keeps asking me if i have the orders and when i say 'no, he gives me the mission again.

i never had a problem with that mission. Is there an option to say yes. I dont remember ever having anything in my inventory for it.
So far ive done corsec and smugglers and not had any mission bugs.

he'll ask you if oyu have and you get a yes or a no option, if you say yes you're left with 'i lied,' or 'i lost them.'

I have done corsec 1111 to Master today, and I never encountered a single bug. For the mission you are on, I had to travel around 2K from the wp, but when I found a cannon ship I disabled it and docked and all was fine.
