Just wondering. Is there value in this since I wont be on the ground that much maybe crafting my ship and generating cash might be helpful.

Thoughts anyone?

It might be helpful to you then. However, it will require some time on the ground gathering various resources needed.

A friend of mine went shipwright with his alt char, so that's always a possibility too, make someone else do the work for you

If you got 6 to 10 million to burn, and can scarf up all the 2 CPU resources off the market, and plan on being a full time pilot as your primary profession - master shipwright is invaluable.

You'll be able to make and customize your ships to your personal specfication, on demand, anytime you want. Being your own shipwright gives you an technological edge where ships are concerned.

I can't help wanting to be a Jedi. Despite the awful infestation of Jedorks running around dueling in the squares and flashing their lightsabers in cantinas trying to seduce the men playing female twi'leks... I still want to have one, so I can pretend I'm the only one, stay hidden and keep it with a certain Ace in the Hole flavor.

The plus side of that, is that I will be able to get a second character and make him a shipwright finally, to do all the component/RE work I need and to be able to fly the 6 non-Rebel Squadrons. Looking forward to that.

I actually started my shipwright grind on my alt before my pilotgrind on my main(one box was expressed-preorder, other groundship, hehe).

It is invaluable if you are willing to put the time and money into the prof, and has good returns both on your own stuff and what you do for friends. If you go into the open market, there is a nice return there too. It is a fun prof to have, in my opinion.
