Greets,
I apologize profusely if this is mentioned somewhere, but I haven't found it. I have found information about changing from one faction to another, and I have certainly seen the information about the fact that a ground factioned player can be a privateer in space.
However, can a ground neutral, that is a privateer in space, join a faction on the ground without surrendering all his space FP? Considering changing to imp ground faction, but don't want to cough up my 3333 Smuggler's Alliance.
Any advice/experience would be helpful.

If your privateer, then NOTHING you do on the ground has ANY effect on you.
Its only when you join the alliance or imperial navy (IE factional military pilot) do you run into problems.
Resiging imperial or rebel ground faction is leaving the military, and all your navy skills go with it.
Privateer. is yours, forever, regardless of ground faction. Flip flop all you want to.

It's the best space faction to go for the JSF as you don't need to regrind Master pilot back like i did, when i dropped rebel for the night
