Myself (Habu) and a guild mate (Stirxossk) have been attempting the Corvette (Rebel mission) since Thursday night on Radiant without much success. There have been many that have tried to help us, and I thank all of them very much for the time they have put into it. I think since Thursday night, I have attempted this around 12 times....and my Advanced X-Wing is really taking a beating.

We have gotten pretty close a few times, but just when we think we are about to succeed, the vette jumps to hyperspace

Anyway, I have a few ace level ships sitting in my backpack wanting to get out. If any of you on Radiant need this quest, or just feel like helping, please send me or Stirxossk a tell in game....we would very much appreciate it.

I play on weeknights from about 4pm mountain until around 10pm mountain (darn work!)

Ill beg if you want......

I did my fourth vette yesterday and i brought some friends. After careful thought of how the battle went I must say ... park you xwing. Pull out a Bellabub or a Jedi Star Fighter. My guildies were flying 2 longprobes, a Kraytand a rihhkryk (however you spell it).

I'm not bragging, just stating how things work -these smaller ships are too fast for the vette and gunboats to hit consistantly. All the other ships died multiple times. I was the only one to launch any missles, do any damageand not to die (good thing too, the vette was for me - third pilot mastery woot!).

Make sure you equip these fighters with 10-12 mark 3 cuncussion's or any missle that will do 9k max damage or so. After all the fighters were destroyed, I started targeting components, made bomber dives at the 'vette launching a missle, not firing my guns at all, at a key component and pulling away spinning as fast as possible. My JSF flies about 985 without a booster (didn't have room =]). If you can bring freinds have them run blocker - have them buzz the vette at full speed so that they draw some fire before you fly in, and make sure you have Cap to Sheild shunt 4 ready incase you get hit too many times. I took the Imperial vette out the first time this way, solo'd the Rebel Corvette alone also.

Another trick to add to this is if you can bring a opposite faction buddy. They can group with you and even though they cannot damage or be damaged they can still pace teh vette, flying above the cruiser about 100m drawing some fire to themselves - I found this out while trying to witness another guildies vette run.

Other than that, transfer you character to Intrepid and I'll help =]

Heh heh...thanks for the reply and the tips. I am not Imperial, so I dont have the JSF. The biggest problem I seem to be having right now is the fighter escort (at least when I am solo). The TIEs with the guns that shoot backwards really give me a hard time. I have soloed them, but it seems that when I am done, I need to go repair. I try and do it as fast as possible, but its still a waste of time. Maybe its just that Im having such a good time, but the vette does not seem to stay in space for 45 minutes....it seems more like 30 minutes to me.

I have learned to solo a gunboat on its own, so I think I could handle that. Last night, I was solo and I pulled the fighters and started working them down. I got a few of them down, then things went south and I got blown up. I went and repaired and then came back. I took out the rest of the fighters, then went for gun 5 on the vette. I took that out, but by the time that was over, I had some damage to my armor. I decided to continue.

I pulled in behind the gunboats and started working on one. It went down without too many problems, then I started on the other one. It was going down also....then....hyperspace...they were all gone.

I dont think my problem is that I CANT do it, its just that I cant do it fast enough.

You should be able to find a bellabub for sale, I see them all the time on my server for 500k.

Make sure you have the neutral droid chips Cap to Shield Shunt 4 and Cap Overload 4 - these are a must. Cap overload as soon as you launch into space, and once you do this the sheild shunt will be more effective since you can shunt more cap energy. ( you probably know this but how do I know? =] ) I couldn't have taken out the Aggressor's (the ones that shoot backwards) without shunting atleast once. Also when attacking the aggressors target their rear gun, the only gun listed as you go through the components, so that you get rid of that nastiness asap. =] IF you don't have these chips, go find a master neut pilot and get them, they are just sooooo important. It's like have a bacta jab every 10-20 seconds for your sheilds. Once I starting using this and the smaller fighter I have been much more successful in space.

Forget about the gunboats. Just ignore them until the vette is destroyed, then you can take them out as a curtesyso that the next vette will spawn.

I've read somewhere before that you can get behind and under the vette intoa blind spot for all three ships and then start hucking missles but I have always just used my dive bomb tactics.

Leave the GBs until AFTER the vette, but, always kill them before you leave. Only scum leave the GBs to bug the spawn.

I've done this vette in a heavy x wing about 6 times now. Very few of my friends fly the ROTW ships in this. Take along a few masterswho dont need this mission to tie up the fighter screen. I find that to be the worst part. Treat this vette like the Kashyyyk one just remember that this one is hostile from the start so watch out for the turbo lasers. Take out gun 5 from front and undernieth and create the blind spot. Get some mark 3 or 4 proton torps on that x wing and keep at the shields and engies from a distance. Once its disabled let the gun boats pass by out of range and just rip that vette apart. Clean up the GBs or go get your spiffy new helmet and come back for the GBs later. This can be done with 3 or 4 ships max if needed.

Agreed. The best way to do it is in stages. Firstly have someone to clear the fighter escort, I do this in my B-22 or A-wing. After the escorts are clear pop the vettes gun 5 then primary shield and secondary shield, engines next. Once the vette stops moving the gunboats will sail on there merry way, finish the vette, not too hard. Gunboats last, 1 or 2 Longprobe Y-wings (or faction counterpart)loaded with space bombs are good against the vette.

Will the B-22 become the Mig-21 of SWG?
