While searching through the Vendor Search on the Bazaar I came across a Chasis Modification item for my Rihkxyrk Attack Ship. What good are these items other than taking up mass on your ship?

cosmetics. they do look cool. the chassis mod for the x-wing makes it look like the advanced x-wing, etc.

I've not used them, so I'm not 100% sure, but I do remember someone posting that they get damaged before your components once your armour is gone. So if you've got some spare mass, then they add another small layer of protection.

Would be nice if someone could actually confirm this though.

All they do is add some bling to ur ship but they dont take up any mass

At least there is a chance that they take damage before OTHER components, so they are an added little potential security without sacrificing mass or energy.

What greater benefit is there than to be looking cool?

I wish there would be several different kinds of winglets and modifications available for any ship in the game...
