I've had JTL since it was released, but always had this same problem with it -
I can't do any damage to any targets. At first I thought I just sucked at flying and needed practice. So I spent a lot of time up there, and got good at hitting my target. I dont mean I can hit it 1:5 shots. I can hit 4:5 pretty consistantly, which I think is pretty good. But I cannot damage the target 95% of the time, sometimes tho it will damage (shield/reactor/etc, the target's %s will decrease).
I had thought I read a while back about there being an issue with JTL and having a satellite connection. (Before you say that type connection sucks, you cant game on it etc etc, I do just fine on the ground. I only lag when everyone else is lagging) I think I read somewhere that I see the ship at X spot, but the SOE server has it at Y spot.
If anyone can confirm that I would appreciate it.

It sounds like you understand what is going on. Your client is "telling you" by the flashes on your target's shields that you are hitting it. But the server side determines where the target actually is in relation to you and your fire and therefore is the final judge on whether you score a hit.

I played JTL with a satlite ISP setup and did not have that problem even with a higher ping then people with 56k modems.
You might try using a local ISP via modem and see what if any differance it makes as the missions are playable even with a poor modem connect (24k connect and up).
If that is your problem then you will wind up having to learn what we used to call lag shooting in the online flight sims.

Ok I guess my assumption was right then. I do have a question, if I was to use missiles to disable my target, then I could switch to blasters in finish it off. What missiles are good for this (disabling)?
I assume if I disabled the target, my blaster fire would be 'right on' since my client would 'match' their client. And missiles should(?) track the target and do damage on both clients I would think.
All the help is appreciated.
