I'm just getting back into the game after a long break. Anyone have a good recommendation on a joystick/controller?

Saitek X45 has a Joystick and a seperate throttle control...it feels like the real thing but takes some getting used to. controlling the throttle and manuvering the joystick it has like 15 buttons....on the throttle it has a button on the handle that goes right or left which controls your roll...talk about able to stay on a ships tail..man you can do it..too bad we have a limit on the speed with our ships...learning to max out your engines would make this a really awesome joystick...it wasn't cheap..so if your not into flying games...then I would recommend the Saitek Arm...it folds down and has a round Knob on the top...sorta looks like a play toy for something else if you know whatI mean.

I bought a Saitek Cyborg Evo 5 months ago and its pretty much had it already, drifting around the centre point. Although I would say I do fly in space at least 2hrs a day.
Just switched back to my Cyborg 3d Gold and its still nice and solid.
Going to be purchasing the X-52 combo in the next few days though.

CH joysticks are the best on the market, they outlast most other joysticks by years, can handle torque that break other joysticks.
Mine is 10 years old and still going strong has Tens of Thousands of hours on it.
The F-16 Fighter stick has more then enough hat switchs (4) and buttons that you would not need to touch the keyboard except to talk to people.
CH is also one of the few companys that sell Rudder peddal setups which are much more senstive then twist joysticks.

I love my X45, wouldn't trade it for the world, the amount of buttons on it means once you've set evenything up you can put your keyboard off to the side and play away, it even has a little mouse controler on the throttle. It really is a thing of beauty, the X52 is out too, same kinda setup, but seeing how you can't improve on perfection, go with the X45, they go for arounf £45 I believe, worth every penny.
