"You do not need to complete the quest/get the badge to fly the advanced Xwing! And the mission is bugged, perhaps you should be glad that you were not bugged."

Strange, if I do not need the badge, then why can't I fly the JSF?
Got that from me alt and can't use it.
And why could I not fly the Advanced X-Wing of a guildie before I went through the quest?

And nope, I was not "lucky" that I got through the quest.
I just know from several quests that the "pah, they were tooo easy" attitude does not bring the conversation forth.

Just to clear it up a bit.

The weak/strong bug WAS a bug. It has been fixed. The current bug in that mission is that if you started the mission and then switched to another squadron before you finished it, it would start the Space portion of the quest over. However, the ground portion cannot be started over(at this point, SOE does not allow Kash ground quests to be restarted). The result is that you will have the girl in space tell you to talk to Eyma(sp?) on the ground. When you get to him he will still think that you are on whatever part of the quest you were on before you switched squadrons...so he will just keep telling you to do whatever that step was suppose to be. In my case I had made it to the Corvette part, but the girl in space thinks I am just starting the quest....thus, I am in "the Loop". And yes, SOE says it is a bug and they are working on it.

As for the part about whether this guy will be able to fly the Adv. Xwing when he gets the certification? From my past experience, he will not. One of my roommates gave one of my other roommates a Adv. Xwing from his alt. He was unable to fly it until he had completed the Corvette portion of the quest. Even then he could not fly it until he had collected 5 additional badges(random, any badge works).

I flew an adv. x-wing before I had the badge. All you need is at least 5 badges of any type.

That may very well be the case then. It would make sense, then, that my roommate wasn't able to fly it when he got it. We assumed the fix was that he needed the Adv Xwing badge. So we got it, then he still couldn't fly it, I had heard before about people needing 5 badges. Didn't think to ask him before hand because, who the hell doesn't have 5 badges. I think I had 5 by accident. But he was able to fly it after getting them. So I stand corrected.

As for the bug, sounds like the fix is coming up. With them working on this "cancellation of missions in journals" thing.

If you do a search on the forums for adv. Xwing you would see that you need 5 badges to fly it. After months of waiting I wouldnt put any money on a bug soon.

Hm...I could not fly it without the badge and it surely was not because I had not enough badges (was around 75 then),
Has anybody tried simply flying to the rebel station and trying if the quest goes on there?
Guildie told me it worked for him.

You cant fly the JSF because

1. You have cancelled your accounts (supposedly)

2. You need to do the quest where Vader personally hands you the ship

Then you can attempt to be an uber compo nubship driver like everyone else.

You got throught the Kashyyyk quest? Good for you! You were lucky though in that you were not bugged like lots of other people. And it is pretty easy.

A tip for you use the search feature on the forums and you will find the answer to questions such as why you cant fly the JSF or the Adv. Xwing.
