Thread: Purpose of prestige?

Been master pilot for a week and been grinding tier 4 duty missions for parts and faction and I have around 10 million prestige points
whats the purpose other than going to deep space.
this stuff needs a better function
say being able to purchase items from a special merchant that are good...note their not extreemly uber and not easy to get, say 4 million for the equivlent of the engine reward at tier 4.
or buy others thing, i dont know..seems so pointless right now

Deepspace is not a requirment for PvP, that's a thing many people seem to forget. Really bad when they're not paying attention, declared and moseying over to their appropriate Deepspace station. But since some pilots are trying to protect there uberloot and pre-nerf sheilds they tend to stick to Deepspace for their JTL PvP fix.

dunno but still 30k to go into deep space, thats what... 2 gunboats?
theirs not even a board showing who has the most if im correct.
So in a sense it serves no purpose.
like for every 1/1000 of a mile you go, you get a free penny...but you can only spend those pennies at special toll booths....and those toll booths take 3 penies.... You dont even have to use the toll booth if you dont want. (no other way into DS but you dont have to go there)

Not even 2 gunboats, I think ... maybe a gunboat and anything else in Kessel.
