Thread: How do I get my HUD to stop following targets?

Every now and then my HUD follows whatever I am targeted on which is annoying, anyone know how to turn that off?

Most likely I am pushing buttons that cause it to do that but I don't know which ones it is.

Thanks

Do you mean the camera follows the target, or that the reticle(not your lead reticle, but the one that shows where you're aiming) follows it?

If its the camera, yeah, you're probably hitting a key that's causing that. Its normally bound to your keypad on the right of your keyboard, but I can't remember which key exactly.

If its the reticle, not sure how to change that. Sometimes when you're close to your target, but its not in front of you, the reticle will slide to a side of the screen.

I think numlock toggles this "chase camera" on and off.

Numlock toggles the autorun feature; the "." on keypad toggles chase camera on and off.

Even in space? I thought in space numlock caused the camera to stick on your target.

It's definitely NumLock, I use it all the time when flying an MP ship (to see how the gunners are doing).

No auto run in space you see .

I remember sitting in the Tyrena Starport for some reason and having some terribly angry wookie rookie pilot land and start really going off about this new feature the devs had put in that totally ruined JTL and that he wasn't going to play anymore and would cancel his account, etc. I asked about the problem and he described how the camera would only follow his target and how flying was now impossible, thanks to the devs. I informed him of the toggle button and what it did and his reply was something along the lines of "Oh, ok. Thanks." and off he went to go fly some more. His intense hatred absolutely blew my mind. There seemed nowhere in his head for a thought that he might have done something to cause his problem but only thatthe evil, evil devs were out to ruin his game.

This little "feature" drove me crazy as a new pilot. It's definitely NUMLOCK.

On the ground yes, in Space, no.
