The speed of your craft and the Yaw/Pitch/Roll stats on the engine dictate your turn ability.
Try slowing to 3/4 speed
Post the craft you are in and the stats on the engine, we should be able to give better advice then

Ummm...what ship? Have you tried slowing down, the sweet spot for turning is definitely not at full throttle. Also, if your stopped you cant turn much either, you need a little speed...

Try the nice, big, fat, STICKIED post at the top of the Pilot boards.
Or click the link and go to that same Pilot Academy guide post.

Ok, here is what I am pretty sure your problem is:
1) If you are ni a yacht, it won't fly for crap...sorry, it won't. But try dropping speed to about half for decent turning.
2) Speed of turning and flight speed are directly related and different for every ship. To figure you best turning out, just crank a hard turn and go into a spin. At that point start playing withthe throttle until you find the optimal turning speed.
3) Get out of the n00b ships as fast as you can and get some real components. This will help a lot.

Simple answer, get a joystick or a gamepad based on your preference. The mouse is much harder to use.

I had a joystick I used for my flight sims. I find it clumsy with this game and have gone back to the mouse with some tweaking to the sensitivity, deadzone, etc. If you're not ready to blow more money ona joystick just go into space without a mission and play around with the settings until you get it where you want it. I experienced the same issues as you when I started. I set up my joystick and that was better, but I just didn't like the feel of it with this game it just didn't feel right. I went back to using my mouse and just messed around with the settings for 5 minutes, now I can outperform pretty much anybody I have ever flow with, and quite a number of them use joysticks. I have to mention that I actually have a trackball though, which now that I think about it probably makes a big difference over a mouse.

is your mouse showing a blue recticle....or a gold arrow...that can be the problem, always want the recticle or else you hardly turn.
I use mouse and keyboard, easy for me. just takes a few min to get used to bro, you can get it

I just put the ship in 3rd person view and its very easy and fun with a joystick. I didnt like the mouse, but to each his own. Its all about which you feel more confortable with.
