Just curious as I know on ground if the lair has the creatures name on it.. it a mission lair... does the same rule apply in space?

If you shoot at someones mission spawn you will get a sound just like when you try to shoot at ships of your own faction or players who aren't overt. And you do not damage that mission spawn either.

Actually that is not true, I was taking missions from the Lok station, and flew up to my waypoint where someone and his buddy kept taking out the spawn. The deal was to disable the ship, and I could not outdamage the both of them. Basically had to cancel my mission, and go do some XP grinding until they were gone a couple of hours later.

Yeah, if the mission is listed as a disable mission, and your mission waypoint is listed as something like "Possible Mission Waypoiint/Target". There is a static spawn there that you will have to camp out and wait for a spawn that has the target info you require to dock and recieve. Send the Pilot a tell (as they may not know it is a mission spawn) and ask if they could hold off for a few so that you can inspect the craft as it is a mission. Hopefully most people will understand and may help you rather than you having to wait for a couple hours. My stomach sank on each of my missions that had this spawn type as I feared that I would have to try and race the people to get my mission done. Each time I had no issues after speaking with the pilot. One even shared the mission, with the exception of his nova escort blowing it up before I could dock on a misscommunication. There are only a couple like this though from what I remeber on the rebel track or the privateer track I took so isn't that big of a deal

No. That is not true. Missions in space pull ships from static spawns the same way that they do on the ground. The spawns are already in set locations (pretty much) all over the game, and taking a mission sends you to one of these locations for your missions. If you have a mission and arrive at a spawn where people are killing ships, you ships just have not shown up. The will when you do. If you didn't see them, then you weren't looking hard enough. I have grinded xp at a spawn for hours upon hours, and people have come and gone with their missions while I was there.

Well, I didn't take into account what that guy above me wrote (since we posted at the same time). He does have a point, those open ended missions I think are fair game.

"Empire had the better ending, I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett it ends on such a down note, I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All Jedi had was a bunch of muppets."

As has been said, it depends on the mission. If you turn out to be killing something someone needs, simply be kind and back off, let them get what they need.

One thing I wish they would fix (slightly OT) is to make ships spawned just for you white dot for everyone else. I can't say how many times I've chased down Black suns, or had someone come screaming in to blast at my spawns, only to hear bleep! bleep! The bleep bleep is fine, but crossing 4km of space to hear it isn't so peachy.
